The Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) congratulates the Democratic Unity Coalition of Venezuela for wining control of National Assembly in the election held recently. The results came as no surprise since the vast majority of the people of Venezuela have been working and calling for change.
The Dominica Freedom Party commended President Nicolas Maduro for recognizing the win of the Democratic Unity Coalition and advice that he give them the respect and space as provided by the laws of Venezuela to perform their duties as elected Legislators for the benefit of the people and country.
The DFP calls on the Democratic Unity Coalition to focus on uniting the people as they work to solved the many challenges confronting their country. This includes widespread shortages of basic items, a plunging currency and triple – digit inflation that has brought the Venezuela’s economy to the edge of collapse.
The Dominica Freedom Party looks forward for the long-standing relationship to continue between the government and people of Venezuela and the government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

Pure Rubbish! In their desperate quest for recognition on Dominica’s political landscape, the few remnants of the defunct Dominica Freedom Party is reaching out to the opposition in Venezuela whom, of course, have never heard of them. The DFP is a political Dinosaur with nothing more than a fossil footprint in the person of Dame Eugenia Charles to keep them in remembrance. If it wasn’t for former Prime Minister Eugenia Charles even the name DFP would be extinct. What the DFP is really trying to do here is send a message to our dear and precious Supreme Leader. You see, the so-called DFP, among others, believe that the opposition victory in Venezuela may weaken our Prime Minister in terms of direct aid and partnership with that Country. By sending this ridiculous congratulatory message, the DFP is indicating to our Supreme Leader that they do not support him and would like to see him in the same situation as President Maduro. They will have to get in line and wait!
Pure rubbish? Desperate? See if the PM thinking like you? You never hear of splitting the vote? The Freedom Party is not that dinosaur that people in their 60’s and 70’s do not remember the glory days of the DFP. Even you, acknowledge that it is not extinct, while you in oxymoron fashion term it as a defunct fossil footprint.
Let the GON Emmanuels and the Fr. Jollys and the Dr. Potters and the Bernard Wiltshires of Dominica weight the DFP with the dignity of their very quiet support making it attractive to a conservative and decent base. Well done, DFP! Still showing some signs of life, May you continue to gain strength. It’s a long road but as long as there is hope it’s worthwhile to continue striving. The DFP served Dominica exceedingly after the great devastation wrought by Hurricane David and Allan and the mismanagement by the DLP.
