COMMENTARY: Trump officially recognizes Venezuela’s Guaido as Interim President of Venezuela

Ambassador Curtis A. Ward

U.S. President Donald issued a statement Wednesday officially recognizing the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Juan Guaido, as the Interim President of Venezuela. President Trump announced his decision in a tweet in which he said: The citizens of Venezuela have suffered for too long at the hands of the illegitimate Maduro regime. Today, I have officially recognized the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Juan Guaido, as the Interim President of Venezuela.” This was followed by a tweet from Vice President Mike Spence in a message to @JGuaido and the people of Venezuela in which he said: “America stands with you & we will continue to stand with you until #Libertad is restored!”

In his statement president Trump said Venezuelan National Assembly, “In its role as the only legitimate branch of government duly elected by the Venezuelan people …invoked the country’s constitution to declare Nicolas Maduro illegitimate, and the office of the presidency therefore vacant.” Trump said he “will continue to use the full weight of United States economic and diplomatic power to press for the restoration of Venezuelan democracy.” He stated further that his administration continues “to hold the illegitimate Maduro regime directly responsible for any threats it may pose to the safety of the Venezuelan people.” He also urged other Western Hemisphere governments to recognize Guaido as the Interim President of Venezuela.

In a statement following Trump’s announcement, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on Maduro “to step aside in favor of a legitimate leader reflecting the will of the Venezuelan people,” and stressed that the U.S. supports “President Guaido as he establishes a transitional government, and leads Venezuela, as the country prepares for free and fair elections.”

But Trump and USA and his rogue agents are suddenly guardians of the people of Venezuela . Big oil certainly have a lot of power and influence.
Now they are setting up to impose sanctions, invade Venezuela and seize their assets in American banks. They have already black list and de risk the banks of Venezuela so they cannot withdraw their money or dispose of any assets invested in the USA. They already tried to stave Venezuela when food purchase transactions could not be negotiated with USA food suppliers through banks. WHY?
So your execellency Mr Ambassador ….Sir… Do your duty . Do what you are paid for( may be paid in 5 months because of the shut down ).
But take note that Trump, his advisers and members of Congress and the Senate are not federal workers and are receiving their full salary and full benefits. While many Americans will be on the verge of stavasion when the food banks run out of food.

Spoken like a real rogue agent of Trump. So what about closer ties he is contemplating with North Korea, why is he not concerned with the Murder and dismember off a newsman in Turkey by Saudi Arabia , so why is he encouraging rebel activity in a sovrign country ? Is that not interfaring in a countries internal affairs. is this a first step to the invasion of an other country because you have more power.
Is that a diversion to the 800,000 no pay workers and the close to a million people affected by the shut down that he is so proud of. Is that part of a dozen plus people that are killed by gun violence daily in his country. Today ABC tv reported that a teacher was arrested for helping a sick student obtain in medical attention ad medication on her insurance. The student had no insurance of her own. IN the USA…..of today. IRS announced that many deductions enjoyed by low income people will be discontinued. South American kids are dying in concentration type centers daily.

And OPEC. recognized by OPEC of which Saudi Arabia is an important and influential member and a friend of you know who. Dominica government is also recognized by Russia and China diplomatically. Interesting yes. Also by some Caribbean and Latin American countries who are cognitive with USA imperialism.
His Excellency, Ambassador Curtis A Ward knows that if he does not toe the line President Trump will say…….” YOU ARE FIRED” ….without pay before he is even recalled. Stranded in a foreign country, broke.

That’s why a future Commission of Enquiry should be in order, to find out why unarmed people were teargassed when they gathered asking for free and Fair elections, and the idiots involved get their comeuppance ..
This should embolden everyone in Dominica who is fed up of stolen elections.

This is going to be a major headache for Skerrit. Once again the PM of DA bet on the wrong horse and finds himself on the wrong side. Dominica can not afford for this to continue and going forward I’m sure the citizens of DA don’t want to be on the side of Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Syria etc. I know Skerrit tends towards that lot. So in the upcoming election we need to tell Skerrit that we, the citizens of Dominica are with our western friends that stand for freedom and democracy!

By 2025 China will be worlds biggest economy surpassing the USA. That is provided the USA doesn’t out maneuver China on the current trade negotiations. It’s in our country’s best interest that we play our position which to be diplomatically prudent in our relationships with both China and the USA. We have a lot at stake as a non producing economy which neither manufacturers nor produces any materials needed to manufacture anything

The Government of Dominica has an all inclusive foreign policy, much like the Switzerland model. Relationship between Dominica and Venezuela was established since the early 60’s during the E O Le Blanc Administration and has continued without interruption up to this day. Dominica has diplomatic relations with both USA and Venezuela and has a policy of non interference in other countries internal affairs.
Dominica and other countries in the Caribbean are very sensitive of their position at the under belly of the USA vs the imposition of the USA unilateral style Monroe Doctrine.
And USA constant disregard for the collective defense aspects of the OAS agreement. That is why Canada did not join the OAS.
Many who do not support the present government of Dominica are trying to create friction and contention between Dominica and the USA using the Venezuelan issue as motive.
This issue is testing Dominica’s diplomatic will, but so far are doing a fine job. The…

The USA Ambassador has chosen DNO to make his statement in an effort to drag the Dominican people to support his countries terrorism in Venezuela. So let us not get involved in this big power conflict advocated by the most arrogant man who ever lived in the white house.
He is very proud of shutting down the government and making his own people suffer to show case his power. With his selfish “I must win attitude” we do not need his wrath demonstrated on us. So let us be neutral on this one and say nothing . Just look and learn.
