The Government of Dominica has appointed former Parliamentary Representative for St. Joseph and Foreign Affairs Minister Vince Henderson to the position of Ambassador/Permanent Representative of the Commonwealth of Dominica to the United Nations in New York.
Henderson decided to bow out of the December 18, 2009 election race claiming that his time came to an end. He had indicated however that he would still be involved in the political aspect of things but not directly.
Henderson, according to a press release from the Ministry of Trade, brings to this office invaluable experience, having held several Ministerial portfolios including that of Minister for Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Labour from November 2008 to December 2009.
“The Ambassador designate has also served as Head of Dominica’s delegation to regional and international conferences and has held appointments on the Boards and Committees of various multilateral institutions,” the release said.
Henderson will assume his new position on March 1, 2010.

Jude, how does the post of High Commissioner become a promotion from that of Ambassador. It is not even a parrallel reassignment. It should be called as it actually is perceived as a post junior to that of Permanent Ambasador. Bweing responsible for trade relationships is of less significance to representing international policies and goodwill of the country.

I hope you will tell us about the TRUE of Barbara Dailey. Show some of the invitations that you prepared for Skerrit to have meetings with Dominicans and he chickened out at the last minute. This position is not based on merit or achievement. It is a political position. All ambassadors are politically connected. I dont know what the big deal is about.

As a Grand Bayrian, I am at liberty to say that Mr. Crispin Gregoire is alive and well to all those wondering and for you guys information, the people of Grand Bay were informed of this change and Mr. Gregoire wasn’t just moved, he had the choice and in consultation with the people of Grand Bay, he chose to vacate the position. Congrats to Mr. Henderson, there a bigger and better things in store for Mr. Gregoire, just sit back and listen.

I don’t know y people fight over politics and politicians. When he said he wasnt coming back, some persons said it was because skerritt didnt treat him right…what could be more right than this big time job now?
