Jeff Carbon, male adult of Portsmouth, was sentenced to one (1) year in prison after being convicted of theft.
Police PRO, Acting Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste, said Carbon was sentenced on Monday 22nd, August 2016.
He said Carbon was charged for the theft of EC$600 belonging to Aldrin Lawrence Pizza place.
Jno Baptiste added that the incident occurred at Portsmouth at about 9:30 pm on August 19th 2016.
For good behavior he will get 6 month. Have to make room I de prison for more hard core criminals like the gun and cutlass bandits.
the penalty should have been much harsher, those thieves need to stop , this has become an epidemic on the Island.
They certainly pick and choose who they charge. The Pizza place must be contributing to the police fund to get any action Typucal residents get no recovery or recourse from the police and they have lost a lot more..
Jail for all thieves including white color criminals!
This is just preposterous! One year in prison for theft and there are those who have killed and molested who are walking free? This legal system just needs to be overhauled! I’m not admonishing that one should not pay for a crime but for $600.00? Come on people, this is just absurd!
UNAPOLOGETIC
My thoughts exactly. Surely the time would be better served doing some kind of Community Service.
I am not condoning theft but it seems is only on poor malaway that the police have force.
Hope he spends the full sentence of one year in prison. While in prison he should be given some counseling to help him overcome his thievery habit that, hopefully when he is released he will not return to stealing and will do something worthwhile with his life.
Jail for all thieves.
They would have to have a facility at least as large as the stadium to hold them all.
