American Airlines makes emergency landing in Turks and Caicos Islands

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, CMC – An American Airlines plane travelling from Miami to St Lucia was forced to make an emergency landing in Turks and Caicos on Monday after the crew smelled smoke in the cabin.

The Boeing 737-800 with 109 people on board landed safely and a replacement aircraft was dispatched to continue the journey.

A local aviation official said it was not clear what caused the fumes but that the situation was being investigated.

American Airlines said its crews would conduct checks on the aircraft before it returns to service.

    It was Jamaica and now is Turks `n caicos. Not me on american airline again…. what happen-

    America doh even have money to service their planes.
