Antigua CIP passport holder detained

antigua passportQuestions are being asked, once again, about the level of due diligence of Antigua & Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP), as news of a Chinese woman and her daughter being held at the Grand Royal Antiguan Hotel surfaced.

The Chinese government sent a “Wanted” report through Interpol for the woman who holds an Antiguan and Barbudan Citizenship by Investment passport.

Well- placed sources told OBSERVER media the woman is wanted by the Chinese government for leaking confidential information.

Sources said a Chinese delegation arrived in Antigua this weekend to discuss the situation.

The woman and her daughter are apparently being held on the fourth floor of the hotel under heavy surveillance by police and Immigration officials.

It is understood while the two are able to leave the property, a 24- hour detail accompanies both everywhere.

Aye Dominique….poor you. What mess have we got ourselves into. The country poor, dire poverty, no jobs, no development, villages still in the dark ages, road bad, and these government people upstairs having fun and frolic and living out on our tax payers money.
    Bondie, please intervene….Divine intervention

How long has she been residing in Antigua and how long ago she got this passport? The government of China claims that she breached confidential information. What information? This government should inform the Antiguan information what was breached which warrants her deportation to China?
Let us face it. She may have been an important person in China and China did not want her to leave. Therefore, a concocted story could have been made up about her.
Antigua government must be careful how it handles this situation. If she returns to China she will be imprisoned, tortured and may be killed.
Those non-democratic governments are quite capable of fabricating and exaggerating stories and blowing them out of proportion. North Korea is famous for that. N. Korea imprisoned a few Canadians. It is claimed that the Canadians were trying to topple the N. Korea government. I doubt this is true. They find ways of detaining, imprisoning people for life or executing them.

According to Chinese law, she is no longer a Chinese citizen. China does not allow dual citizenship. So they should have no power over her in Antigua.
Besides if China wants her arrested for leaking information, she should count her blessing that she got a passport to escape. She is a lucky lady. The Chinese government is repressive by nature.

Time to pay the piper (China) Mrs. Antigua!

I told you guys a long time ago that we should NOT fear the good old USA but rather those wolves who come in sheep clothing bringing gifts of Three Pillars, Many ASS-ociates Degrees, Promises of 10 Star Hotels, Hospitals in the sky and boocoe cash for those who support their expansionist agenda like in Africa.

Antigua MUST and SHALL hand over their now CIP citizens albeit by revoking the said citizenship already granted with some farfetched due diligence reason or a lack thereof. Its only a matter of time. Sadly, these people will most likely disappear in thin air into some underground Gulag-prison never to be heard of again. Communist China does NOT play by the rules and those those refuse them learn the hard way.

Antigua now, ours next! “Laire bab kamawab ou kar bweelay, Dominique, woozay sahwou!”

    Assertive, Never Aggressive!

By the way my peeps the Web of passport selling corruption is a connected one and don’t be surprised that the agent who sold the passport and was suppose to do the due deligence might be one of the many agents also plying the passport routes in Dominica , St Kiss etc.
When we Dominicans open up our eyes we will realize that the Web of corruption is is so massive that it will take a life time to clean up. Chasing down the hidden loot will be a humongous task cause the cukprits have mastered the money laundering system. Just ask the two ladies that served as directors and share holders of many shell companies. But that is just from one passport depot. We en even talk about other distributors.
Billions of dollars in passport sales. Oh l argent la pa pa bondieur.hmmmm

  9. January 25, 2016

What is ironic to Mr us that Antigua just reported that they made $250 million in 2015 from passport sales and guess what they said that they published all the passports sold during the said period. Yet peeps there is corruption right of the bat. Now in Dominica our government don’t publish the names of the passport buyers and in one year Antigua reported more money than dominica ever reported in 22 years (15 years of Labor). Yet there are those who want people to believe that Dominica passport vending program is clean. Kiss my big toe you hear.
This passport scheme is nothing but an excuse for politicians to rob the people under the guise of economic development. How can god fearing people allow politicians to rob and fool people and religious leaders either say nothing or support the corrupt politicians. I challenge any god fearing person to point out one passport selling project in the last 16 years. Yet over 17000 passports were sold. Tears

That goes to show what such a passport is really worth. The woman and her daughter are citizens of Antigua & Barbuda and entitled to the protection of their government, especially when in their own country that was very happy to take their money. Yet the government of Antigua & Barbuda allows the security service of China to come and detain them whilst in Antigua without due process. That must send a message to holders of such passports that when push comes to shove their expensive new passport affords them no protection at all and is not worth the paper it is written on. It is clear that the Chinese authorities do not want these people to talk to the press or other foreign governments and the Antiguan authorities are colluding. Why? Self interest I’m afraid.

Signs of the times. This is a lesson to be learnt by our most holy precious Lord and savior R. skeritt. When it comes to this citizenship by investment program, he needs to proceed with great caution or else he will be found wanting. I urge him to be careful, careful, careful, because unknowingly to him, selling a passport to an uncertain individual might just be handing over Dominica’s keys and opening up ourselves to harboring criminals and evil Islamism

Here is the problem, is she still a citizen of China, or a citizen of Antigua?

If the Chines has the authority to go to Antigua, and demand her return to china, that would indicate her citizenship as an Antiguan is invalid!

It will be interesting to see how this plays, if the Chines, are successful and prevailed in getting here back to China, when she is supposed to be an Antiguan citizen, that could blow the whole citizenship program throughout the poor Butt islands and especially Dominica out of the selling of our nations passports.

    • January 25, 2016

If she is wanted in China, she can be extradited regardless of her citizenship if there is an extradition treaty between China and Antigua. It would be better for the Antiguans to hand over the woman as there appears to be a failure of due diligence. It is also important to note that doing due diligence on a Chinese national is not easy considering the restrictiveness of the Chinese society.

        January 26, 2016

Anon, but that would also suggest they they did not ask the Chinese authorities for information on this applicant and were interested in her money only. Makes you think, doesn’t it?

      January 25, 2016

Helen, what if Antigua revoke their citizenship? Just to keep on the right side of China they don’t want to upset? You think that is impossible? You wait and see. They all keen to take people’s U.S. dollars for selling them their passport but when the shit hits the fan they are nowhere to be found.

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
        January 25, 2016

Citizenship once granted cannot be revoked, under normal circumstance; in history I know that happened only once; when the United States revoked the citizenship of a man who helped to execute (murdered) millions of Jews in Germany in the concentration camps during World War II.

His name is Demyada he was extradited to Israel in the nineties where he was put on trial for his crimes against the murdered Jews. I believe he was executed for his crimes!

Now one can renounce his/her citizenship as Ron Green denounce his American citizenship, because he could not be Prime Minister of Dominica, while he was an America. Too bad for him he lost the election, and his American citizenship.

Meanwhile a certain Dominica Prime Minister has chosen America to be the birth place of all his children thus far, except one the older one perhaps, the kid don’t know!

revoke with repayment i hope. because we are advertising that you can escape hefty child support and other crimes by having a foreign passport

      • Me
        January 26, 2016

We all have to be aware that a passport remains at ll times the property of the government that has issued it and it can be withdrawn at any time without explanation. Your passport does not belong to you, regardless how much you paid for it or nothing at all. One can in fact become stateless, a very precarious position.

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
        January 26, 2016

Yes that is true; however, withdrawing a passport, and resending ones citizenship are totally two different situation. The government of Dominica, can withdraw any citizen passport, even a born Dominican; all that will do is simply prevent the holder of the passport from traveling.

Now I am a citizen of the United States, so too are many Dominicans, if for any reason, the government of the U. S. confiscate or take away, or ask me to submit my passport, that would not constitute my citizenship revoked. In the first place they cannot return me to Dominica, because I have already pledge allegiance to the US, to fight against Dominica if there is a war between Dominica and the United States. The only way my citizenship can become null, and void; is if I do like Ron Green did. By right; and law, any of us Dominicans with American citizenship, landing in Dominica today, can be given a limited amount of time to remain in the country of our birth by the immigration and naturalization…

      • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque

By right; and law, any of us Dominicans with American citizenship, landing in Dominica today, can be given a limited amount of time to remain in the country of our birth by the immigration and naturalization services, and there is nothing we could do about it!

Be reminded there are Trinidadian’s American citizens who went home and got involve in crimes, they were eventually deported from Trinidad back to America. The late Stokely Carmichael during the Black Power era was one of them!

      January 25, 2016

Even though she is Antiguan Antigua and China may have an extradition treaty hence they could obviously haul her back…It is sooooo obvious that many persons who seek citizenship by investment programs to acquire passports have some sort of ulterior motive
