WASHINGTON, USA — A comparative study carried out in 2010 by Airports Council International has ranked Mexico’s Cancun airport as the best for service quality in Latin America and the Caribbean — with a Jamaican airport in fourth place.
BBC Caribbean reported that the Mexican airport also ranked top overall in the region.
Following behind Cancun were Ecuador’s Guayaquil airport, Costa Rica’s Santa Jose airport and Montego Bay in Jamaica.
The Grantley Adams airport in Barbados was top in the region among those with fewer than two million passengers.
Seoul’s Incheon International airport received the award for best airport worldwide for the fifth straight year.
Sometimes I really ponder where were our leaders in the past and which schools they went to and what was their trend of thouight when I compare the many great advances our neighbours are making and we seem to be happy being reffered to as Cynderella of the Caribbean. Our service is so low, infrastructure poor, the attitude of our people leaves soooo much to be desired. The town they say they are well on course to make the premier “city” in the OECS smells of a different noxious fume in every corner and solid waste the new decor. To compound the problem, our leaders make comparism with some of our neighbours and give the impression that we are doing well. Oh please!!!!
service @ Melville Hall is OK let me agree with the penance domicans get in Antigua. Where is the help from our leaders.
Ha Ha……I have learnt long ago that when they talking about Caribbean in international news that Dominica is not included (Jamaica, Cuba, even Haiti perhaps). T o me its just a broad category : Latin America and Caribbean ; mark you most times is Latin America they talking about
As long as Antigua never mention. Dca surely above them no matter what. I try to avoid that place by all costs. With my last penny. I’ll fly from Ny to France into gwada if it meant I could avoid Antigua. Anything at all. N if I cannot avoid it I won’t fly. No offence to antiguans but the people at. The airport, which could be a minority killing the perception of your country. So its not a diss but something wrong there.
Melville Hall should have been number one and Canefield number four.
The number 1 airport in Dominica? But that would put Canefield at number 2. No? Unless uncle Chavez has some other airports deep in the jungles of Dominica that we don’t know about.
did u click to see if melville hall was on the list????? shame on you to be so gullible
I agree completely. I commend the gov’t for the improvements to theairport but we are a long way from our Caribbean counterparts.
It would be interesting to know what they rank Melville Hall
kakarat?
lol @ “kakarat.” It’s been a while since I’ve heard this word.
Not trying to be sarcastic but Dominica is a long way from such, but we’re still grateful for the improvements!
No sarcasm detected . You speaketh the truth.
