Caribbean uniquely positioned to become global leader in combating cyber security threats

The Caribbean as a region is in a unique position to become the global leader in combating cyber security threats.

That’s the view of Nuno Mantinhas, director of sales, Caribbean and Latin America with Fortinet Inc, a US-based leading network security provider and the worldwide leader of unified threat management (UTM) solutions.

Speaking in an interview in Barbados, following the 9th Annual Caribbean Ministerial Strategic ICT Seminar, Mantinhas said he was impressed by the demonstration of commitment by regional governments to collaboration in the area of security policy.

I hope all you ready to fight serious cyber crimes when it comes, because its not only about tracking people online activates but hacking banks & government files, you see now everybody is into to computers not just basics but the advance stage i.e. networking etc, that’s serious business when every body knows how to network & communicate to servers
that leads to keyloging spyware & so on, what about the trained I.T Technicians we have under 30 who are unemployed! have you all ever thought about that the danger that lies there with these people when they get angry with the system or get hired by criminals, my recommendation to you all screen people before you teach them these skills because this is a very sensitive industry.
