The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) may devise a new target date for full implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) after acknowledging the initial date set must be revisited.
Assistant Secretary General for Trade and Economic Integration at the Caricom Secretariat, Dominican Irwin Laroque says the 2015 deadline CARICOM heads had put in place is not feasible, and so leaders recently decided the date must be reviewed.
“There was a notional date of 2015; it’s obvious that that date is not achievable. I think that was a significant underestimation on the time table,” Laroque pointed out.
Officials say there is much more left to be done before the single economy can be achieved and CARICOM leaders have asked their finance ministers to reassess the length of time it will take to fully put the initiative into operation and state their decision when CARICOM officials meet again in July.
Our Caribbean leaders are nothing but waste of time. You guys only knows how to fail, what is taking all of you over 10 years to make a decision with almost 3years left to go. We are not asking you to build a new Caribbean, sure you all couldn’t not in this life time. If you need help don’t be to proud ask the Europeans are the Chinese, also you can contact RedJet Airline CEO for a model to work from he sure have more faith in Caricom and CSME than you all. Sometimes I wonder how you guyes succeed at unicersity level with not even common sense. You are nothing but a bunch of failures. To come togerter is the begining, staying together is progress and working together is success. You leaders need to stop thinking of your selves, your fancy life style and start thinking about the caribbean people. Shame! you all crying like kinder garden student.
Stupes…..more talk, less action. Typical of Caribbean leaders.
