GEORGE TOWN, Cayman Islands (AP) — The prime minister of the Cayman Islands has signed an agreement with a Chinese developer that has pledged to finance and build a cruise ship port in the capital of George Town.
State-owned China Harbour Engineering Company also will build a cruise ship pier at a nearby turtle farm as well as renovate and expand a jetty at a popular beach, according to a government statement released late yesterday.
Prime Minister McKeeva Bush said he expects to sign a contract by November, adding that the Chinese company will finance and design all three projects. The government has not said how much the projects will cost.
Well folks you better just get used to it. The old super powers are sinking and new ones are replacing them.
Look China has just slipped into Greece to build a mega port costing billions and to be run entirely by Chinese to bring Chinese products into Europe. Greece is in financial chaos and just watch, China will help bail them out…..like they are bailing out the ‘great’ US of A.
Times they are a changing. So start learning Mandarin or you will get left out.
I wonder whether all the loggers will write the Jamaican and cayman Islands residents asking that they demand from their governments an MOU, since all the Chinese are ex-prisoners and don’t know anything about building bridges and making roads, also they do not have a clue that they will be bringing several hundreds convicts with them.
On a more serious note the Chinese expect to spent B$5.Yes 5 billion dollars in the Cayman Islands and bring with them five thousand workers.
What. Will the Chinese say to that?
You must be kidding me, What evidence do you have to prove what you yelled,Don,t just believe what you heard,China is doing good, they are helping lots of other developing countries in good fath.
