Grenada considering going the route of economic citizenship

The harsh economic realities now facing Grenada has led government to consider offering overseas investors citizenship in exchange for large financial injections into the island.

This would put Grenada in the class of Austria, and fellow Eastern Caribbean islands St Kitts and Nevis and Dominica, currently the only three countries in the world who offer such programmes.

If it like ours, please FORGET IT! It will destroy Grenada, in the same way the good name of Dominica has been tainted out there in the international community.

This Grenadian government is bankrupt of ideas. These guys lack creativity, they’ve only got book sense, no street sense. Since these ex-communists got into office they can’t show a thing for their stewardship….. now they want to dump Grenada back in the Hall of Shame!! This NDC government knows that it is a ONE TERM government!! We taking them out clean next election, watch you’ll see.

They now want to resurrect a scheme that was suspended ten years ago because it was deemed too risky with regard to terrorism! What has changed? Do they really believe this revival will attract bona fide investors, particularly in the present financial climate? Perhaps they have observed with envy the wealth enjoyed by a few Dominicans, who have profited from such a scheme while the country itself and its populace are still awaiting “real” long-term economic benefits from it. Tread very carefully fellow islanders and learn from our experience. Easy money invariably bears a very expensive price tag…. these days Cerberus operates a waitng list for candidates for Hades!

Maybe Cerberus can enlist you as the warden of those doing infinite time in Hades?
Maybe Grenada bent over backwards 10 years ago to please their western ‘friends’ at the expense of their own people.
Maybe the brilliant George Bush over exaggerated the threat of the now dead, Bin-Laden and Terrorism to the world?
Maybe Grenada realize that the benefits of the program to Grenada outweigh the risks?
Maybe Easy money is not only good for the Big countries their Big Companies and Big Shots/Stars, but its always good for your fellow citizens, and small countries?
Maybe the Grenadians see the truth, that Dominicans in general (and not just a few Dominicans) are benefiting from the ECP?
