The newly appointed Secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Irwin LaRocque says he will continue to concentrate on efforts to deepen the integration process within the within the 15-member CARICOM grouping.

“The future of the region lies with integration. Congratulations again to Irwin LaRocque, on his appointment as CARICOM Secretary General. Another proud moment to be Dominican.

Many of us expect to see the speeding up of the full implementation of the CSME. The integration of the Caribbean Community is so critical to the holistic socio economic development of the region and its people. We all look forward to the continued efforts at making the region one common economic space for the betterment of the present and future generations of Caribbean people.

Maybe noe there will be the balance in the region, as the Caricom head understands the value that all islands regardless of size, bring to the issue of regional integration.
