REDjet executive complains of not benefitting from regional agreements

Burns

The chief executive officer of the region’s only low budget carrier, REDjet Friday said his organisation as a Caribbean Community (CARICOM) enterprise has been denied many of the benefits and rights entitled to it legally under several agreements among regional countries.

Addressing the inaugural Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) State of the Industry Conference here, Ian Burns said that the agreements, including the Revised Treaty of Chaaguaramas that governs the regional integration movement, “have failed to deliver on their objectives”.

Mr Burns are you naive, you may know a lot about that industry, you have to remember LIAT is owned by various Governments, competition is good for business, but they will never allow the monopoly of LIAT to be challenged unless you put a few thousand US dollars in the right hands you will be frustrated by those money grabbing politicians what I suggest to you is try the fraudster Sir Allen Stanford method he had no problems getting landing rights when he owned Caribbean Star Airlines.

Caribbean leaders too spoilt, the only way they’ll give you a go ahead is if you cut them a check under the table. So to try to go about doing your business the right way…. good luck with that… Them boys know one language.

Redjet should not give up. This LIAT nonsense needs competition!! As for Redjet coming to Dominica, that’s not happening anytime soon, unless they’re flying a truboprop air-craft into Melville Hall. That is, unless the moutains suddenly disappeared from the Melville Hall area overnight.

Anthony sto your foolishness? you think running an Airline is cheap? Tell the caribbean governments to stop charging LIAT passengers soo much taxes.LIAT needs fre access into Dominica and then you will get cheaper fares. LIATis not a bus ride from your home to Roseau and who would want to risk their lives on a poor maintenance prone and an inexperience airline to fly to Dominica anyway, if it’s not AA or LIAT dont fly to Dominica.

    Admin,
Please get us up to date on Red Jet coming to DA. They just confirmed that the runway is too short amoung other things like the mountains. You posted some stats a few weeks ago saying otherwise. I remember asking you to resaerch the info that you put out because it did not make anysense at the time.

Redjet cannot fly to DA as the runway is too short to facilitate this airline

High taxation and raising taxes is self defeating, said Alan Greenspan. But our governments never seem to understand that, they keep raising it to create more revenue and it end up creating less when people have less to spend.
    Says alot….

Gonsalves and his crew are the ones doing that. They want LIAT’s monopoly of the sky to remain.
