Venezuelan opposition leaders have called on their supporters to gather in the capital on Thursday for what they have dubbed the “Takeover of Caracas”.

Their goal is to put pressure on the electoral authorities to allow a recall referendum this year, aimed at ousting President Nicolas Maduro.

The country is in a deep economic crisis which the opposition blames on government mismanagement.

The government accuses the opposition of trying to mount a coup.

    Change in Venezula is desirable.

However, two wrongs do not make a right.

A coup is seldom the way to go. And to respond to the threat of a coup in this manner is likely to excite violence. It could explode into a civil war which can last a long time and cost lives.

Nations looking on should not take an example from Venezula and think that is how to topple a federal leader who they think has outstayed his time. Let cooker heads and better judgment prevail! Democracy works with a sprinkling of skill and a dash of patience.

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

      Sorry.

      Last paragraph.

That should be “cooler heads” not “cooker heads”.

      Sincerely, Rev. Don Hill.

When I heard the story, I was wondering how many Opposition Leaders do they have in Venezuela, apparently, there are more than one Opposition Leaders.

Given the gross incompetence and mismanagement of the Maduro regime, presumably anyone who’s not actually part of the regime is at least tacitly an opposition supporter at this point.

Congrats at least the people are making a move whilst those in dominica are afraid of breathing God given air..that’s how dunce they’re in Dominica…

heard the education minister boasting about how well da is doing in term of it’s education funds, in regards to places like Barbados and other bigger islands in the caribbean which had cut backs due to economic down turn…

but he should be aware that soon the passport selling market will be dead as the US will eventually sabotage it..that’s how Big Bro works…

non of the folks in the regime understand world affairs, if u getting a few pennies from illegally selling your birth rights keep quiet, when u and your PM go boasting that to the world it’s disaster awaiting trust me…..but dominicans are not known to be clever thus them being the poorest and slowest economy in the region!!

dominica should be cautioned about that passport selling machinery…it’s illegal the method and way they’re going about it..
