What’s poisoning Martinique’s men?

martinique

From the outside, the French Caribbean island of Martinique looks like a paradise: turquoise waters beneath colorful wooden homes that climb up lush green slopes of banana leaves. Life seems pretty laid-back — no one expects Martinique to lead the world in any rankings. But this Caribbean island does lead the world in one dark, tragic metric: prostate cancer rates. According to the World Cancer Research Fund International, in Martinique:

For every 100,000 men, 227 have prostate cancer.

That number is almost twice the rate of the second country on the list: Norway (129). The United States, by comparison, comes in at No. 14, with 98 incidents per 100,000. And Martinique’s is an outlier result that looks even more eyebrow-raising when you run comparisons to figure out why.

I went to have mine checked – didn’t know what the Doctor was going to do, or how the test was done. She (the doctor) told me to take out my pants off – I thought, Oh shaight! Then she asked me to lie on my side – Well, if it’s on my side, then it wasn’t what I thought. AA, she asked me to remove my “sliders” hehehehehe things started getting a little dicey. Then I kept my eyes half shut wanting to see the action. Then she slipped on some gloves and shove her finger up my anus – Oh boy! I was so damn glad it was a female Doctor. Had it been a male I’da knock eem out. However, she said it was fine. Wish she examined me every month. On a more serious note; all you men out there should have inside you butt checked every year. Be on the safe side and be in the know.

of the Commonwealth of Dominica. But Pastor Stew you really stewd this one. it is even burning.
I pray tht U have not a single person in ur church & it is an invisible church. What ignorance in 20015\’s end!
Of better interest would be to calculate our ratios here in DA.
It is said ej it is229 in 100000.Hence in DA\’s terms it would be like 113.5 if we had 50K males but in pop of 60k and there are about 5 women to one man 5:1 means ther are x5 more women than men. means 15000 men to 45000 women so using the figure of 100000=227 working with 12000 in DA works out to 14-15 in DA what\’s the score epidemiologist? CMO?
let me hear the stats office.!Do we or don\’t we have 15 men with prostate issues on Island as Angelo would say on island is his favorite .

We consume to much MSG’S and ASPARTAME everyday and not eat natural foods. The more a country develops the more we move into processed foods which kills us slowly. Again the superpowers are getting rid of us. They know that they want the world population to stay at 5 Billion and they will destroy some people in the caribbean to bring it down. France is not at all your mother country, she’s sacrificing you all for her survival.

This has been known to the French government for years also the Dominican government is well aware of the dangers. It is not only in martinique but guadeloupe also. The french government put a ban on the substance in france but it was used in the colonies for a number of years after the ban in the 1970’s and extensive testing of the soil on both islands have shown a vast percentage of the toxic chemicals both in the soil and in the marine life on their coast. This information was shared with me by someone who attended a summit in the french islands on how to combat this issue. The information was shared a couple of years ago.

There is nothing surprising about those statistics. They are similar worldwide. As a man ages, it is almost inevitable that he will have some stage of prostate cancer. That doesn’t mean that he will necessarily die from it., even if it is never treated. Prostate cancers are generally slow growing. Xenoestrogens in the environment such as plastics and herbicides such as Round-up contribute to the incidence of prostate as well as breast cancers. Exposure is the key. Exposure through food and exposure through the spraying of the environment. Does that ring a bell DA’cans?

I would also question the statistics that are given in this article.

Not God’s to know. He/she did not cause it nor can tell us of it.

I believe red meat cause prostate cancer as well, I lived Martinique for many years they love their red meat there, Dominica rate low because men here don’t eat a lot of red meat, its all over the news processing meat cause cancer.

    • SMOKING OUT
      October 27, 2015

they have a history of eating red meat so it is something which is new to them, it could be their new found love of toxic chemicals which they used in their agricultural development

  10. Made In Dominica
    October 27, 2015

This is most likely due to the extensive use of pesticides in agriculture(sugarcane and banana farming) over the last few years which has entered into the ground water system. Dominica could have been in the same situation but luckily most of our drinking water supplies is surface flow.

    • Shaka zulu
      October 27, 2015

Yes it is surface flow but had not been efficiently piped to homes. I still remember folks getting water from a soouce with coconut branch or PVC coming from ground. Looks clean but God knows how much arsenic and other dissolved chemicals in there. No one tests.

When I was a little kid I remember these yellow spray planes spraying banana in the Northeast. These were fungicides for leafspot. After the planes passed I remember the oily droplets that would cover our dry feet and hands. These chemicals were also inhaled since they were easily carried in the air. A couple years ago o researched and read up on leafspot treatment and chemicals used. Let’s put it that way. We all screwed. First of all these spray planes were designed for the large plantations in places like Costa Rica where it is impossible to have men on ground and could not be used near rivers and streams. In the tiny community in the north east where I come from their is an arlaming rate of cancer. My mom and several other women who have no family history have been affected by breast Cancer. Several men lost to prostate cancer. The green revolution and introduction of fertilizers, pesticides, fugicide, and weedicides I believe is showing its ugly face and will continue ..

Grmaxone, furadane, mocap, roudup and all the other chemicals we pumped in our soils some of which take many years to naturally deteriorate. We have people who are capable of doing environmental studies. I do not think that the ministry of health and environment or agriculture in DA has any handle on this problem. My fear is it will be very late before we figure it out.

    • Howdouknow
      October 28, 2015

I agree, also in my village in the south west we have the same problem. How is it that all the women above the age of 45 have suffered from some kind of cancer as well as some of the men, in an area of a total of 4 families (Max 20 people) Something is not right and none of them with the same family bloodline. They need to investigate these cases before it starts happening to the younger generation.

  12. Stats in Reverse
    October 27, 2015

Good question would be the figures 4 DA
The essence of the stats is the 100,000.
Now DA does not have a good 60K eople let alone men as women are like 5-1 in DA will the gov\’t health services give us some stats? The Epidimiologist in the Min of health answer the pertinent question.
We might be b4 first place like the other side of 0??????
