There are too many Christians that behave like puppets. We let the world tell us how to live, instead of God. Take pastor Bernard Joseph as an example. He made a mistake and the whole world acts like he committed a crime.
Pastor BJ, why are you not preaching the word of God? You use to be on DBS, now you cannot be found.
Pastor you did not commit a crime, you made a mistake. Just like most of us you are not perfect, you’re human.
There are people who rape little boy and girls and they walk the streets proudly and their friends stand beside them. I’m not saying what you did is right,but I am not condemning you for making a mistake. God has not condemn you, for God hate sin but He loves sinners like you and I.
I know the things that doesn’t destroy us, only makes us stronger.
So please get back to doing the Lord’s work. When God call you to preach, he did not say you were exempt from mistakes.
There is a saying that goes like this, ‘when God say yes, no one say no’. I always say to those I offend, mistakes are made,hearts are broken but love and forgiveness can make things right.

I disagree with those of you that are saying BJ needs to face the media and make a national confession for you to forgive him. Is that what humility is?

While I do not like what BJ did and he knows it is very ungodly, we also need to take a few things into consideration before we attempt to condem n him.
1. Any sin that is committed by a Christian especially adultery is very shameful because one must take into consideration that an innocent wife is cruched and hurting inside. For the man to go over the airways to make a public confession of that kind of sin that he enjoyed for 7 years would just be destroying.
2. How could BJ take it to the media when hours after the news broke, Q95 throgh my friends in politics, Lenox Linton and Mark Pelthier made a subject of discussion on? Many of you called the station to make all kinds of nasty statements although you never got a coffession from the accused. Can you imagine imagine what the man and family would have gone through if he repented over the airways!
While I don’t support what he deed and strongly condemn it, I must take it as a lesson because sex is something we all like and if when caught it is our nature to do all we can to cover it, like David the man of God did. Also I cannot condemn him because there is not one sin a person can commit that I cannot commit and therfore by condemning him, I am making the blood of Jesus of insignificant.
People that are trying to make a show of BJ fall into one of these categories.

Though you may be right if you fall into any of these categories and you might have a valid reason to feel the way you feel about the man,the truth is, we have never had a preacher in Dominica who ever made a strong an impact on the nation, like this man. So his fall is a blow for the nation and we should not celebrate his fall like we have been. We should all take this as a warning especially christians and preachers, that we should not play with fire because it will eventually burn us.

Are you saying it is ok to have sex with your worship team member on saturday and then come to church on a sunday morning and then join the person on the stage singing and leading God’s people in worship. Pastor Rawl does not even need to study theology–that still means nothing without the anointing of God’s Holy Spirit, which is what he needs; that he might speak God’s wisdom and revelation, feed through his conscience into his mind.
For that is the evidance that God is speaking through all those who claim to be speakers, writers, and teachers of His Word.
I will never understand Pastor Rawls’ line of reasoning, someone who claims to be a messenger of God, because he never speaks from God, the way I know God’s Words from a human being.

Pastor Joseph Bernard has indeed committed a sin against God–he being a messenger of God also. Why does Pastor Rawls not understand that he needs time to atone for that sin, to humble himself, and to adjust to the discipline and training of God’s Holy Spirit, before he should return to the public with God’s Word?

what is the difference between a mistake and a crime…..ok a crime seems to be an act or conduct that is contrary to established law…..so what is a mistake then?
A mistake can be corrected; it is an attitude or conduct that was not intentionally demonstrated–like premedation.
In other words a mistake is not wilful mischief, evil, or wickedness, and it does not always come in the classification of a crime.
We can makes mistakes against each other, even as we do things for our selves. When we make mistakes against another person, we need to ask for forgivenness, and it is up to our victim to forgive us.
Sin is neither a mistake nor a crime. Sin is disobedience to God’s commands, that is why the apostle Paul teaches that the “wages of sin is death”–not pertaining to physical death but separation from God, who is Spirit and Holy.
AS human beings–even if we never commit a sin in all our lives–we come to this world with the nature of sin–meaning that it is easy for us to yield to temptation.
We commit the sin when we do the thing that tempts us. Just like in the case of Pastor Joseph Bernard.
The nice thing is that we have healing and forgiveness because of the Blood of Jesus Christ and our faith. By our faith we can die to the flesh–the place where we commit all sins processed and producced through our carnal mind.
Dying to the flesh means that we are under the process of mind renewal–the control by which we learn self-control and to speak against the temptation in our body; gradually learning to walk in the Spirit, doing the things of Love.

I am not a pastor and if I were to have engaged in such acts my concience after some time would be calling me out. A human must be born again, of Water and the Spirit, by his/her faith. We cannot claim to be children of God, if we have not encountered that “New Birth”

After reading the comments and reading the article it seems that Pastor Rawls does not have sufficient insight into the issues surrounding Mr. Joseph. If I am correct this leaves me to wonder, is he really led by the Holy Spirit?
Secondly, if the rumors are true that Pastor Bernard Joseph was in an adulterous relationship for almost a decade, is it realistic to call this a mistake Pastor Rawls?
Thirdly, it is also alleged that Pastor Bernard has misappropriated the funds of his congregation. Would you call this a mistake? Any sane individual whether layman or scholar will conclude that these are major fraudulent and criminal practices.
Lastly, if Pastor Bernard wants forgiveness, he needs to be honest and straight with the Supreme Lord of the Universe. Additionally, we needs to recover or compensate the rights of the people he allegedly violated. Thirdly, he needs to make a resolution not to resort to these practices again, he needs to internalize, find out how he fell into these misdeeds, put forward an action plan to ensure that he will not fall into the clutches of evil again.

1. What is the point of writing this for DNO? We all have friends who have done wrong. We talk to them in private and help them get on their feet again. We don’t write a piece for the press! We love our friends and hold their hand. This is nothing more than a sick attempt at gaining attention.

Read the story of King Saul in the book of 1 Samuel and you will see how God regretted having chosen Saul to be king over Israel.
