The new priest gets ready to administer blessings to the faithful

Before a packed Roman Catholic Church in his community, Calvin Auguiste of St. Joseph was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest by Bishop of the Diocese of Roseau, His Lordship, Gabriel Malzaire on Tuesday evening.

It was the end of a journey for the 27-year-old to the Order of Presbyterate which started when he was 17.

Malzaire told the new priest that God has placed trust in him and it is his job to make that trust a reality.

“To call a young man in his prime and put in his heart the desire to leave the enticement of the world and dedicate his life for things that are noble, for things that are eternal and moreover for God to trust that he can make it,” he stated. “Brother Calvin, believe it or not, this is the trust that the Almighty God has placed in you, now it is left to you to bring it to fruition.”

He said his prayer is that Auguiste would be the best he can be in humility and love for the people of God.

“Therefore this is my prayer for you, that in keeping in keeping with the scriptural texts that you have chosen to inspire your ministry as a presbyter, that the Lord will grant you the graces needed to be the best that you can be in humility and in love for God’s people,” the Bishop said. “That you will come to know the depth of love of the people of God for you. I say this because generally the faithful are looking for good, exemplary priests, priests who are fashioned after God’s own heart. Here you have the priviledge and the opportunity to do just that.”

Malzaire said he also hope that the young priest will “grow gracefully in your love for the Lord and his mission, that you will grow in love for the church and its people.”

Meanwhile Auguiste told the congregation that his ordination is a sign that with God all things are possible.

“Who would ever thought a little ‘kawant’ (worthless person) from Sen Joe would be ordained a priest today?” he said to thunderous applause.

He stated he met a number of people who told him that he should be proud of his new ministry but said he possessed more by a feeling of gratitude.

“I am thankful to God for calling me, calling me to this ministry, to this vocation but when God calls his children have to answer,” he said.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin and his wife, MP for St. Joseph, Kelvar Darroux and other government dignitaries.

Priests from around the diocese and representatives from Auguiste’s religious order, the Redemptorists, were also in attendance.

The new priest will celebrate his first Mass in St. Joseph on Wednesday (today) evening.

DNO, I had the intention of thanking you for posting this article and for the many pictures. They are wonderful! The faithful Catholics will obviously share my feeling.
I am elated to read the article and view the pictures. If I were in Dominica, I would surely have attended Fr. Auguiste’s ordination. The pictures helped me to be spiritually present. :)
I observed there was a repetition of a verse in the song. I checked it thoroughly prior to sending it and cannot comprehend that this one was missed.
It is a beautiful song which could make one feel to soar to the Heavens, if only spiritually. :) Of course, to make them strive for higher godly, spiritual heights. O Happy Day!
There is much more to Catholicism than meets the eye and mind which obviously some are not able to fathom. I know, the day will come, in God’s time, when it will all be revealed to them.
Thank you immensely! God bless you and for allowing them and my comments.

Fr. Auguiste, God be with you throughout your Priesthood as you serve His (our) Church.

For those who gave up houses, land and other earthly wealth and pleasures to follow Our Lord Jesus Christ and persevere to the end. This is the plan God has for them.

The following is a Song which I find appropriate for the good and sincere Priests which you are now, a member of the Clergy:

The Day That I Have Won The Crown

For the man who follows Jesus all the days of his life
Who picks up his cross and walks with his God
A glorious inheritance awaits him at the end
When he will see and know his true Father
And the pearl , a great price is in his hand.

    Chorus:
So as for me I will press on in running the race
With my eyes fixed on Jesus who inspires and perfects my way
I will fight the good fight with all my heart and soul
‘Till the day that I’m with Jesus
    The day I’m finally home
The day that I have won the crown.

He will approach the throne of his Father with Jesus at his side
The Father will rise and say welcome home
You’re a good and faithful servant,
come home and take your reward
The battle’s done come and take your rest
    Stay with me forever more.

And the Heavens will resound with a thunder of praise
The angels and saints will shout for joy
And the Father will dance for his son has come home
Another warrior returns from the fight
Another victory for the Lamb of God.

Some time ago I heard this religious song on US Catholic Radio. I taped it. Listening to it to type the exact words were difficult. There may be one or two errors which those who do not know it and the words may not detect. I Googled it to get the exact words but could not find it. Whoever knows it, see if you can detect the words which are minor and record it here.
The man who sang this beautiful song (lyrics and music), got a resounding applause and no doubt a standing ovation.

Father Auguiste, I am reminded of the following passages of Holy Scriptures which only refers to The Catholic Church and Its Catholic Priests;.
Catholics are aware that this Church was established by Our Lord Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago when he pronounced the Words, “Thou art Peter and upon this Rock I will build My Church. . . .”
It never was the Lord’s intention that over thousands other churches would be in this world, all brought about by disobedience, greed, status and disunity which God is obviously fully aware of.
Our Lord Jesus Christ did not establish them. So many, down through the ages to today have deceived themselves, leading many gullible and vulnerable souls astray. God has dealt with such people who have since died with more to come.
This Church had the Holy Bible which others who decided to form their own church took a copy with them when they left It and dissected it, removed what they wanted from it to suit their mentality and lifestyle.

The following is referred to only and only the Catholic Church and Catholic Priests; no one else who is outside the Catholic Church, who renounced their Catholic Faith to join another church and who were not baptized in the Catholic Church can stand claim to it: The Lord has ordained it. May no others think it belongs to them. It is solely the Catholic Church.
Our Lord did not create divisions and disunity for His Church with different churches all having their own opinion and interpretation .

Hebrews 7:17 – You are a priest forever in the order of Melcizedek.
Hebrews 7:20 – The Lord has sworn, and he will not repent: “You are a priest forever.”

1 Corinthians 6:7 – This I say by way of concession, however, not as a command. Indeed, I wish everyone to be as I am, but each has a particular gift from God, one of one kind and one of another.
1 Corinthians 7:32-35 – I should like you to be free of anxieties. An unmarried man is anxious about the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord.
But a married man is anxious about the things of the world how he may please his wife, and he is divided. An unmarried woman or a virgin is anxious about the things of the Lord, so that she may be holy in both body and spirit. A married woman, on the other hand, is anxious about the things of the world, how she may please her husband. I am telling you this for your own benefit, not to impose a restraint upon you, but “for the sake of propriety and adherence to the Lord without distraction.”

1 Corinthians 7:17/24 – The Life That The Lord Has Assigned – Only everyone should live as the Lord has assigned, just as God called each one. . . . Brothers, everyone should continue before God in the state in which he was called.

“You may have those sentiments but it is by no means the same and is not true. You are deceiving yourself and trying to deceive the gullible. Do not compare you to the Catholic Priest. One day you will realize that what I stated is correct. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave the Catholic Church Priests. No one else can stand claim to be a priest. It is not approved and recognized by Our Lord. @The Facts May 27

One thing I know for sure is that God has a Church in this world and He is the only Person who will unite us, the physical, as the One Body in the Spirit of which Jesus is the Head. I am saying that God’s Church is still scattered in the world, no doubt that part of the Body is in the Roman Catholic Church–but I have to tell you, point blank, that you are not one of that Body. You are not speaking nor writing for Jesus, because you must get this authority from Holy Spirit, you manner of writing is not from His guidance–come on now woman!

Fr. Auguiste, God has called you to the Holy Priesthood and you answered The Call.
When The Holy Spirit inspires and prompts, He cannot be resisted. He will turn “a kawant” into a godly person. God had his eyes on you before you were born. He allowed you to live until He thought you were good and ready to consider the priesthood. Then he escalated this urge in you. Today, you are an ordained Priest.
The Blessed Trinity and Our Spiritual Mother, The Ever Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Dear Lady will always be by your side assisting you in administering to God’s people.
You should know that Our Lady loves the Priests, Her Blessed Son’s Priests and Her Beloved Priests. You will never be alone.
God bless you and give you health and strength for many years to come to be able to serve Him.
We, the laity, in whatever part of the world we reside in, are obligated to pray for our Priests, the Church in General, our Pope, Bishops and members worldwide.

“Who would ever thought a little ‘kawant’ (worthless person) from Sen Joe would be ordained a priest today?”–@News article

Calvin those words of yours reminds me of a Scripture spoken by the apostle Paul; he reminds us at 1st. Corinthians 1: 26-29 that we are called to “Glory Only in the Lord”

“—-God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.

So have spoken about the great virtue of humility in you, all you need to add is trust and obedience, as you continue with those attribute; and you will see the wonders that God will work in you–just give Him the glory.

I also became a priest in January 1971. and not only I but every one who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. It makes no difference whether U are a boy or girl a man or woman.Every sinner who is saved because of God’s Matchless Grace,God through the Holy Spirit automatically puts him or her in the priesthood. And as Royal priests (believers) our job here on earth is to pray to God for our fellowmen, for those in authority and to offer spiritual sacrifices to God.
    1 Timothy 2:1-5, Hebrews 13:15 and 1 Peter 2:4-5.

    My hope is built on nothing less;
    Than Jesus’blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly learn on Jesus’ name.

    On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Oh Lord help us,open our eyes to see the truth.

@J.John-Charles May 27, 2015 “I also became a priest in January 1971. and not only I but every one who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour”

I like this comment of yours here. Not many people will understand, you, but I do. Jesus as our Lord and Savior, must means that Holy Spirit is in us, for He is our connection to Father and Son.

At Revelation 5: 9-10, we read about Jesus (the Lamb of God in that context) ; it says

“You are worthy to take the scroll,
      And to open its seals;
      For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
      And have made us KINGS and PRIESTS to our God;
And we shall reign on the Earth

God called me in September, 1998. My primary job is to do the work of Evangelism– however and wherever God calls me to do that job.

And now for you Calvin, you are blessed, for your Life in Jesus Christ has just began, be sure to live it for His delight, in all that you do

      J. John – Charles
      and
      Lizavier4Jesus

You have both borne witness to a glorious Biblical truth.

Every person who believes that Jesus Christ on the cross paid the price for his or her salvation, and receives HIM as their personal Savior is saved according to Romans 5:6-9, John 3:16, John 1:11,12, and Revelation 3:20! The same Bible tell us that every saved person is a priest before God in 1 Peter 2:5-9, and Revelation 5:9,10. We believe it – not because a religious organization says so. We believe it because God Himself says so in His inspired and holy Word!

“If they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20)

Not every saved person is called into the full time ministry. The New Testament shows that there are many different ministries. Not all of these are full time vocations. We exercise our priesthood in different ways according God’s leading in each life.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Evangelist.

    • The Facts
      May 29, 2015

You were baptized a Catholic which God approved of and blest you then, as a baptized Catholic. You chose to renounce it.
Referring to yourself as a priest is foolish. It makes no sense.
This is how unintelligent some of you are. You lack godly enlightenment. People as you do not realize that once a baptized Catholic always one to eternity, Heaven or Hell. No one can baptize you again, eradicate this baptism and say you belong to another religion. God did not approve of it.
St. Paul clearly stated in Holy Scripture, “There is only one baptism.”
You can quote all you want from the Bible, it will not help you.

      • May 30, 2015

Do you remember your so-called baptism as a 2weeks old baby? Well I do not have a clue at that age, for that reason it was not the baptism of Jesus Christ–but a simple presentation to him .

But remember it clearly, that event of the winter months, in 1998. I remember answering the question from my Pastor of the Pentecostal Church: He asked me : “Why do you want to be baptized? My answer was: “I want to die with Jesus so I can be raised to live with Him”

That same year, 1998, in early September, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, came to live with me–the event took place at home, alone in their presence and my Bible for conviction–see it at John 14: 19-23–it was an all day celebration for through all sorts of emotions.–I was alone!

While you speak all of those things without any personal experience, just know that God is about experience–especially in those mystical ways–you need to hold back a bit, because you do not know what you are saying.

      You mean “ecstatic”.
Some who were kawant grew up to be responsible people. If everyone were to give an account of their childhood to adolescent years, we all would be surprised and also have a good laugh. From time to time a few of us reminisce about those days. It is healthy. :)
Our Lord’s disciples were not previously holy men. Our Lord called out to them and said: “Come Follow Me.” They did, for life. The faithful ones are saints in Heaven.

Let us pray for Fr. Auguiste that God will continue to bless and surround him with priestly virtues as he serves his parishioners. This means that the enemy, so prominent near our priests and others who worship God, will be driven far from him.
