Harold Camping ‘bewildered’ after Apocalypse comes and goes quietly

Camping

Harold Camping is “mystified” and “a little bewildered” today that the Rapture did not go as he predicted, an associate of the California preacher told ABC News.

Tom Evans, a board member of Camping’s Family Radio International, said today that Camping’s wife told him her husband is at their home in Oakland and has no intention to speak or issue any statement today or Monday.

Camping’s wife described him as being “somewhat bewildered” and “mystified” that events did not unfold on May 21 as Camping had predicted, Evans said.

Evans said his personal position is that the public is owed an apology and he wants the board — and Camping — to meet on Tuesday to figure out what to say and do next.

Men like this have been coming and going for years.

When you hear of a man or woman, a local church or a demonination, setting a date for the rapture or the end of the world, you can know he, she, it, or they, are false.

But you can be sure of this. The rapture will take place. The end of the age will come. The Lord Jesus came the first time and fulfilled the prophecies in the Old Testament. He will come the second time and fulfill the prophecies in the New Testament. There are more prophecies in the New Testament about His second coming than there were in the Old Testament regarding His first coming!

Not even the angels in heaven or the son of God knows the hour why would any one believe that a man like us would know those things, people put your faith in God and not man, read the bible for clarification and DON’T BE FOOLED just be prepared spiritually because we never know the time or the hour!!

Camping’s calculations were wrong and his assumptions naive, but Rapture and Judgment Day are still relevant! Humanity needs to know the truth. Listen to this very compelling recording from a new spiritual group that is making waves and getting the word out to be spiritually prepared with more than a simple prayer and some bible verses.

We have the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ as contained in Holy Scripture. This is all that we need and nothing more.

Camping clearly is lost: he has been wrong more than once, and clearly shows the consequences and foolishness of blindly believing in anyone’s personal bible intepretation. Worse, in the declarations he has sent to the press today (May 23), he admits he is a little “confused” because of his miscalculations, but he does not show signs of backing up. Instead, he says that his faith is “strong again” and that “for sure” rapture will take place this year… Go figure!

Anyway, I went to this “Merkaba” page, and with all due respect, and IMHO, all I see there is “New Age” type of spirituality, where christian elements from the Bible and from diverse oriental religions are mixed up with fantastic fiction in a way that is just perfect to lure the innocent, the weak of Faith or the weak of spirit. This mix of truths, half truths and fiction is just made to order to manipulate, control, and rip people of their finances. Rapture energies? The “chosen one” from this millenium? Come on… Star Wars and The Lord of The Rings are children stories compared to what new age “spiritual guides” can come up with.

I suggest you steer away from this “new age version” of the Rapture and Jugdment day, or else you will endure the same fate that Harold Camping’s followers: fall in your face, deceived, confused, and with less cash in your pockets.

The truth is that God has chosen to reveal himself to mankind because of his love for us. And the pinnacle of that revelation is His Son, Jesus Christ, who was sent to save us from eternal death. The truth is in Him, and trough the faith we receive from Him, we can start to experience his real presence in our life in ways that will change our lives for good. Pray to him with all your heart that you want to know Him, and that you want to be guided to His real Church, and he will answer you for sure, because he loves you and he is waiting for you. Just stay alert for unusual events on your life, and look for God’s response in new things that come to you that are related to Christ, like an invitation to know more of Him.

You see folks? This is what religious zealotry gets you. SMDH. Go read a science book please! Learn something that will make the world a better place. Stop all this doom and gloom preaching. I don’t mind if these things had any merit. But there is no evidence or merit to them in the slightest.

The man was exercising his God given right of freedom of speech
and we had the God given right of Freedom of choice to ignore him
    or take him seriously.

I have a few questions for this camping fellow; 1. Is God real? 2. Is Jesus the one true son of God? 3.Is the bible the true spoken word of God? If all the answers are true, and the bible clearly states that no one knows the time of GODS return, not angels , not even the son of God himself, then what makes camping so special that he would know? The word of God warns us to beware of FALSE PROPHETS and thats just what camping is. He is a deceitful man who went about about misleading people. Everyone needs to know God for themselves and hear from him. God speaks to all of us all we have to do is listen to his voice. God is not angry with anyone that he has to use some other avenue to get our attention. Its people like camping the reason why churches are getting emptier every day.

this man should be jailed period!!! how the heck you can profess to be a christian and forget that the word of God says NO ONE KNOWS THE TIME OR THE HOUR WHEN THE SON OF MAN WILL RETURN?

And as for those who believed ……….shame on all you

Those who are part of a gospel preaching Bible teaching New Testament church would not likely be deceived.

For years I served churches as a pastor before becoming a full time evangelist. I taught the great doctrines of the Bible to our people who came for miles to hear me teach Bible prophecy from a large colored canvas chart that stretched across the front of the church. To my knowledge when I was a pastor we never lost one individual or family from the church who left to join a cult; not even the large cults that specialize in their own brand of prophecy teaching

Now as the Director of Living Hope Ministries one of the things I do across Canada and in the USA is present a Bible Prophecy conference in churches and Bible colleges using the same large colored chart. I know something about the great hunger for teaching on prophecy! People flock to these conferences.

You can see the chart on the internet. Go to http://www.livinghopeministries.ca and click onto PROPHECY CONFERENCE. Then click onto the chart!
It can also be copied free of charge. For a sample of the teaching click onto ARTICLES. Then click onto the article THE CASE FOR THE PRE-TRIB RAPTURE and any of the other articles. Don’t miss the article on UFOs!

Unfortunately there are modern churches that are no better than social clubs. Their pulpits are filled by “career pastors” who care more about being politically correct than pleasing God. Some of them have nothing but a form of godliness; non-biblical rites and empty ceremonies. Others run on religious entertainment that feeds the natural man but offers nothing for the soul. Many churches do not preach the gospel of salvation and the Word of God is not taught.

The people in these houses of “worship” are empty and hungry. They have questions but receive no answers. They are the ones who run after men like Camping. He is a false teacher.

Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. International Pentecostal Evangelist.

So called men of god have always used the bible to push their own agenda. Even those authors of the various books in the bible used what they call the “word of God “ to furnish their own motives and those of corrupt political, social and religious leaders.
The May 21 prediction was just another insidious act by a religious leader to generate attention and make money. This Harold Camping dude raised millions of dollars promoting his Dooms day prediction. History will show that religious leaders have consistently used the bible to mislead and swindle people of their money , land ,gold, whatever things of material importance. The well known arm twisting scripture phrases “ give to Caesar” and the 10% payment to god is yet another example of the deceitfulness those who not only wrote those requirements but also those who promote those requirements. Take for example the pastor in Dominica who demanded $50K dollars from his congregation at his 50 th birthday in addition to his luxurious life style all on the back of the congregation ; what about Caffu Dollar(however spelt). If this type of behavior is not is not day light rubbery what is?
It is time to really prosecute these crooks who parade as god’s servants while they take advantage of the meek and vulnerable god fearing people

Well said my friend. too many of these so called pastors are using other church goers to promote their own agendas. Its merely a get rich scheme. WAY TOO MANY FRAUDS IN CHURCH. Can you imagine demanding $50,000. 00 from people who can barely pay their own bills?

Now the person, that one guy that was in that news piece by ABC, said that “it will happen this year.”

Have you noticed how when such predicitions don’t come true, they just push them back and will say “Oh well it’ll happen next year instead,” or the case of this man, later this year.

I hope this is a lesson to all that there are false prophets among us. all 60,000 religions cannot be right. They might all preach about God, but in the end only the one God commanded himself is the one. the others have all the wrongs attached while trying to do good, but they will never be right because they have taken it upon themselves to TRY to give themselves authority, yet the authority was left with only one.
