The Trinity is defined in Christianity as the existence of one God in three forms, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Advanced Cambridge Dictionary).
Many churches today in Dominica uphold this concept as orthodox teachings in Christianity. It has been the subject of intense debate amongst theological schools across the world. We shall examine scriptural evidences from the Bible, the Holy Quran and logical reasoning as well as clarity from scriptures which seemingly support the trinitarian concept.
The Old Testament clearly proves that God is not a trinity. In Deutoronomy 6:4 states: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. The word one in Hebrew transliteration is Ikhad, in Arabic is ahad which means one, not three in one. This is a clear proof that none of the Semitic people believed in the concept of the trinity. Another proof, ‘I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.’
(Isaiah 43:11) This verse shows that there is no saviour alongside God not even Jesus Christ peace be onto him. Additionally, we read ‘I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me.’(Isaiah 45:5) This verse refutes that man is in the same image as God. Also, it refutes the idea that God resemble his creation in any way. Later, a careful examination will reveal that Genesis 1:27 does not mean that man resembles God in any way. There are many more verses in the old testament that supports the fact that God is not a trinity.
Since Christians claim that the Old Testament has been done away with or they are no more under the law, are under the grace of Jesus Christ, I will prove more points from the New Testament that God is not a trinity.
John 20:17, “Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” This verse shows that Jesus and the Father are at different places at the same time; additionally, he is not the father how could he be co-equal or co-existing with God? Moreover, Jesus peace be onto him said that he is ascending onto his God, can God ascend onto God? This verse shows a clear distinction between Jesus and God. It disproves the notion that Jesus was ‘God in flesh’ as there would be two gods if they are completely different entities or persons. The definition of the trinity is in clear contradiction of many verses posted from the Bible, the Holy Quran, logic and common sense. Another verse says, “And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”(Matthew 27:46) If Jesus is part of a trinity or God who was he crying to? Does God cry? Why is he saying ‘my God?’ Did God forsook himself? Also, if Jesus was forsaken or neglected on the cross, will we be neglected if we pray to the god in flesh?
Another verse from the New Testament says, “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.”(Mark 13:32) God All Mighty is all knowing, this means he is never ignorant for one nanosecond. He knows the hour when he will judge the world. However, god in flesh has no knowledge of the hour. It means that Jesus is not the second person in the trinity. If he was God he would have said to his disciples that He cannot tell the hour or that one should prepare for the hour, on the other hand, Jesus clearly states that he is ignorant about the hour. How can one worship one whom ignorance is attributed to? The evidences reveal that God is not a trinity but simply one God.
The Holy Quran proves that God is not a trinity. Chapter 112:1-4 teaches, ‘Say: He is Allah, the One. Allah is Eternal. He was not born neither is he begotten. There is nothing comparable to him. The same work Ikhad used in Hebrew in Deuteronomy 6:4 to indicate the oneness of God, the word Ahad is referred to one in the Quran. According to Islamic tradition, this verse was revealed to prophet Muhammad peace be onto him and his purified household that this verse was revealed when the pagan Arabs asked about the genealogy of God. The last verse shows like Isaiah that nothing is comparable to God. Additionally, ‘They disbelieve who say: Allah is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them.’
(Holy Quran 4:73) This verse is clear in the last revelation to the seal of prophets to mankind clarifies the misconception of the trinity. It is a living proof along with the other scriptures that the trinity is untrue.
Logic and common sense dictates that the trinity is untrue. We shall examine some statements from the question and answer session from http://www.ewtn.com/faith/teachings/GODA22A.HTM then address them God’s willing.
‘How many Persons are there in God? In God there are three divine Persons–the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. (a) Unaided by divine revelation, the human mind could not know the existence of the Blessed Trinity because it is a supernatural mystery.3 Even after God has revealed the existence of the Blessed Trinity, we cannot understand it fully. When we believe, on the word of God, that there are three Persons in one God, we do not believe that three Persons are one Person, or that three gods are one God; this would be a contradiction.’
Firstly, to question how many persons are there in God denotes polytheism. Secondly, if it is a supernatural mystery how could someone hold or teach a belief that he does not understand? Weren’t the prophets and messengers sent to teach clear divine commands? How can mankind obtain guidance by such a ‘mystery?’
If such a concept of God is so important to understand yet one cannot understand it, why were critics such as Arian in the fourth century were seen as heretics? Why are people in Dominica viewed as astray due to their lack of comprehension the supporters of the triune doctrine failed to explain? Would God punish me because I fail to accept a doctrine I cannot understand? Additionally, if you do not believe that three persons are one person, or that three gods are one God then what do you believe? Let us look at another case, ‘Is the Father God? The Father is God and the first Person of the Blessed Trinity. (a) The first Person of the Blessed Trinity is called the Father because from all eternity He begets the second Person, His only-begotten Son. b) God the Father is called the first Person not because He is greater or older than the other two Persons, but because He is not begotten.’ Firstly, if the begotten son is the second person in the trinity it clearly shows that the second at one time did not exist. Secondly, the site suggest that the Father is not greater than the son but this is a clear contradiction of the scriptures it claims to believe in. ‘..My Father is greater than I.(John 14:28) These responses clearly reveals the flaws in the question and answer forum on the trinity.
Many verses in the Old, New Testament and logical reasoning refute the verses which appear to support the trinity. ‘Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness…’(Genesis 1:26) They say that us means the father, son and Holy Spirit. Firstly, Deuteronomy 6:4 teaches that Ikhad means one, not a trinity. Also Isaiah 45:5 says nothing looks like the creator. Thirdly, the word na•’a•seh נַֽעֲשֶׂ֥ה is the majestic form of us. For example, in French there are three forms you is used, the first one is tu which means you in friendly or familiar form which you would address your friends, vous which means you in plural as well as you, used in polite form. In French the latter is used when addressing persons in authority. In Hebrew and Arabic the same principles are used since they are sister languages.
Additionally, Christians quote, ‘I and my father are one.’ (John 10:30) Firstly, this is a metaphorical statement along with many other statements in the bible. Does it mean that their purpose or their message is one or they are physically one in the trinity? We see very clearly that Christians ignore the rest of the verses. Further in John 14:20 it reads, “In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.” Does that mean the disciples are part of God in a total of 15 in one with God as well? Another verse is, ‘In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and the word was God.’ (John 1:1) The word was with God meaning beside him and that the word was God at the same time are contradictory statements. Also, these were not the words of Jesus but it is the gospels according to John.
In some bibles the things said by Jesus is written in red ink, thus Jesus based on his sayings never supported the concept of the trinity. Moreover, the Greek translation of work logos is a pagan philosophy. Modern biblical scholars have come to realise that Jesus is not God or part of a trinity. In 1977, a group of seven biblical scholars, including leading Anglican theologians and other New Testament scholars, published a book called The Myth of God Incarnate, which caused a great uproar in the General Synod of the Church of England. In the preface, the editor, John Hick, wrote the following: “The writers of this book are convinced that another major theological development is called for in this last part of the twentieth century.
The need arises from growing knowledge of Christian origins, and involves a recognition that Jesus was (as he is presented in Acts
2.21) ‘a man approved by God’ for a special role within the divine purpose, and that the later conception of him as God incarnate, the Second Person of the Holy Trinity living a human life, is a mythological or poetic way of expressing his significance for us.” (The Myth of God Incarnate, p. ix)
In conclusion, I urge the people of Dominica to question what they have been asked to believe since they were young. Also, take these concerns to their priests and pastors, do your research then come to your decision. No man can save your soul. Jesus Christ peace be onto him prayed to God. He told the children of Israel to worship God, but people have chosen to go against the Jesus they claim to love. He submitted to the will of God thus makes him a Muslim. 2. The Sex of “God”: “And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus.” (Luke, 2:21). If Jesus is god, are implying that god was circumcised. Are you saying that God has a penis, a toelee? Isn’t this carnal mindedness and paganism my friend?
3. “God” Sucked The Paps of a Woman: “And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.” (Luke, 11:27). God sucks breast of his mother? Isn’t this paganism and carnal mindedness?
4. The Country of Origin of “God”: “Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king. (Matthew, 2:1). Are you implying that God was born? I thought God was eternal? How could you believe that God was pushed through the private parts of a woman? How could you believe that God was born in a manger, a place where it stinks with animal dung? Isn’t this paganism and carnal mindedness?
5. The Transport of “God”: “Behold, thy king cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass.” (Matthew, 21:5) “And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon.” (John, 12:14). Why does God ride on an ass with an ass….? Are you kidding me? Is this the Holy Spirit teaching you these things? Isn’t this carnal mindedness and spiritual bankruptcy?
6. The Powerless “God” (Jesus) said: “I can of mine own self do nothing.” (John, 5:30). Your god admits that he cannot do things independently. Is this the teaching of the Holy Spirit? I doubt that! Isn’t this carnal mindedness and paganism?
7. A Weary “God”: Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well.” (John, 4:6). God gets weary? I thought he was God. I forgot, you believe that he was both god and man so you have a godman. You have the father whom no one has ever seen. The godman Jesus and the Holy ghost. Can I call ghostbusters please? Your concept of that Holy Ghost is really unrealistic. The idea that God is weary, isn’t this paganism and carnal mindedness?

I do not even know what the Quran looks like, much more for me to know what is written in it. Because I am satisfied with God’s Word by the Wisdom and understanding of His Holy Spirit. I need no other writings or human teacher to convince me. How can even begin to understand what wisdom is, when you do not believe that God puts His Holy Spirit in the minds and conscience of His chosen people.
But why am I waisting my breathe to tell you these things anyway? Your mind is carnal, heading to complete perish; you cannot understand the things of the Spirit . You do not know God, in Jesus Christ, because Satan is holding you in the bondage of blindness, deathness, and darkness, against the Light that should be your Life, by faith In God, through His Person, Jesus Christ.

You do not have to worship God, in Jesus Christ, if you choose not to do so. But you are full of garbage; you cannot argue against my wisdom from God, and you will never be able to do so until you have humbled yourself and surrender to God Almighty, by your faith in Jesus Christ.

So it is better one stops making mockery of God by talking about Holy Spirit. Yes muslims believe in divine inspiration to do good. He speaks to us not through organs but within our conscience, however, you must have knowledge of divine law in order to differentiate between the injunctions of God and the whisperings of Satan. To worship a human being or God incarnate is clearly a satanic suggestion. Secondly, the bible is not the word of God. In Jeremiah 8:8 says, ‘How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? (New International Version) This is clear evidence that the bible has been corrupted.
Also, I am the way, the truth and the life, one has to read these verses in their proper context. This statement has absolutely nothing to do with the trinity. Some of the scribes and pharisees failed to listen to the message of Jesus because they were content with the law. Jesus had to remind them that he came with the gospels. He was sent by God to teach the gospel so in order for them to gain salvation they must seek knowledge and application of submitting to God’s will (Islam) through him. Does that mean one has to worship Jesus? No! Does that mean that Jesus is God? No! Therefore, all I see is you have made statements that contradicts rationality, logic and spiritual wisdom.

Only God’s Holy Spirit can convince you of the Truth and to answer the questions you are asking. And yes, you do need answers to those questions. But unfortunately you are not asking them for. answers. You believe you already know the answers, and you refuse the wisdom of God’s Holy Spirit, so you simply choose to remain in your state of darkness, blindness, and deadness.
Jesus told Peter that He would use his level of faith to build His Church, because by faith, Peter declared that “Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. And Jesus did just that–build His Church–by the power of His Holy Spirit, starting from the Day of Pentecost. But the apostles decided to give that Church a name–Christians while the faith is called Christianity.
The name, or names is not what is important; it is the relationship with God that is important. But we cannot maintain this relationship without allowing the God of the flesh to transport us to Eternal Spirit, the Holiness of God. The name of this God of the flesh is Jesus, as Christ is the Person of Love who lived in Him. He tells us that: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”. That too is Three Natures of our needs which comes from One Person–the Trinity of God.
You can repeat peace be unto Jesus until your tongue drop out. If you will not accept Him as the only begotten Son of the Father, you have not believed and accepted His claims, and you remain in your sins to stand before the White Throne Judgment Seat of God. Those who accept Jesus and who He claimed to be will not see that judgment, because it a judgment that send people to the pit of hell in their state of death. Jesus came, that those who believe and accept who He claimed to be might live forever more.
Besides Jesus holds the Nature of Peace, you cannot offer peace to Him, you must accept peace from Him.

Christianity is a European made up doctrine. Jesus peace be upon him never called himself a christian. Paul is the founder of this religion. Paul taught very different from Jesus. Jesus said to follow the commandments, Paul said the law is vain. Jesus circumsized, Paul rejected circumcision.
Our people still uphold the religion of their white slave masters. Which bible you people believe in, is it the one with 66 books or the ones with 72 books? Do you believe that Jesus is God or the son of God? Is God the son of himself? One can see this makes no sense and anything which does not make sense is NONSENSE.

It is not about understanding the concept of the Trinity,. The Trinity is a concept or doctrine “made up” by the Roman Catholic Church Theologians as to the the attributes of God., now if you’re a Roman Catholic that is the doctrine you accept. If you not a follower of that faith or do not ascribe to that doctrine, why spend time trying to prove it legitimacy or disprove it, this is where the confusion lies, we are forgetting that it is “made up,” Yes we can have our individual opinions to believe it or not believe it, but at the end of the day that is the doctrine as to what the Roman Catholic Church created and want their followers to accept.

The truth is that I did not read the above article with no manner of contemplation, as by the power of God’s Holy Spirit, I perceived the senselessness of it.
Whether for God, or against the concept of the Trinity, most of you, and especially the writer of the above article, quoted the scriptures with expansions that displayed no wisdom of God’s Holy Spirit. But where or how would you guys receive the wisdom of God anyway! Since you all deny that He is One, Eternal Spirit, in the Person of Jesus Christ, but with three characters. That is what the Trinity of God means.

This means that Eternal Spirit, God, in Jesus is the Power and the Authority, but the Right Hand is the physical Part of God.the Son of Man, which is needed to demonstrate the Power and Authority. A spirit can only manifest actions through a physical body and speak words through a physical voice for those who are in the opposite nature, like us, human beings to comprehend. The mystery of the concept of the Trinity is unveiled through that wisdom and understanding of faith.
There is nothing in the above article that expresses any fundamental meaning. But you are right to say that my response was emotional. Yes, I expressed the emotional response of God’s Holy Spirit, who fills me with wisdom and understanding of His Words, teaching me how to speak or write them. He does both of those works–writing and speaking His Words–through me.
For me, God and His Ways in my Life is more than reading and studying the Bible. You pass on messages to other people based on information you receive from books and the ideas of other human beings, even if you can hardly understand them yourself. . I pass on information as I receive them directly from the wisdom and revelations of God’s Holy Spirit, by my faith. As I hear, I speak or write; they are not from my human mind, wisdom, and understanding.
That is what you perceived about me, but if you were able to discern that truth you would not have mentioned it. God caused you to respond to my post with those words, because He intended to show you the contradiction of your mind, through me. In the beginning……God said, “Let there be Light” Genesis 1: 3 God’s idea was formed by His spoken words and that idea came into existence. This continued to happen for all of the 6 days (or 6 thousand years, for the apostle Peter tells us that 1 day is like a thousand years to God and visa verso) that God took to create the heavens and the earth.
Apostle John, who was a witness in the presence of the Man, Jesus, in this world, testified of Him, saying: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word with God, and the Word was God……. “And the Word became Flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of Grace and Truth”. John is saying that: “We saw Him with our own two eyes, and He revealed everything about the Father, Eternal Spirit, of Holiness and Truth.”
But read the important testimony of John as he continued to speak about Jesus. “In Him was Life and the Life was the Light of men.” John is telling us that the Man, Jesus is the One Person of God, who is of (SPIRIT, HOLINESS, and LOVE–three characters, but ONE MIND, ONE HEART and ONE PHYSICAL BODY)
But why did God have to come to earth in the form of flesh and blood. Because He needed to give Life to mankind, the Life which He formed by His words at Genesis, when He said “Let there be Light.” Adam and Eve, our first parents rejected this Life, through their intimate relationship with Satan. So they conceived in darkness, and brought their offspring, we, human beings in the same condition of darkness–without the Life of God Almighty, the Light which is His idea for our existence –in this world.
Whether we are Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhist, and even the many of us who call ourselves Christians, as all we do is attend church on Sundays or Saturdays, we are all in the same boat, existing without the Light that is our Life from Almighty God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. And we still on our way to Eternal perish.
The Wisdom, Understanding, and Teachings of God by the power of His Holy Spirit is evidence of Light, Life through Jesus Christ in us. But then we can only receive this Life by faith. The things of God is a mystery to our natural or human mind–that mind is carnal, and it cannot comprehend the things of Spirit and Truth–until we decide, through humility and obedience, to show God that we desire to put our faith to work. God will know our sincere decision, and He will start His work in us. The Trinity of God is not a mystery to me, for by my faith, God’s Holy Spirit unveiled this Truth many years ago.
Christianity is just a man-made religion that the slave masters forced upon our ancestors and as a result they never questioned its origin. How could a religion that was forced upon our ancestors free us and make us believe that we are going to heaven after death? When will we wake up and realize that religion was a tool to keep us in bondage so that we would never rise as a people? With all these religions in the world there is more crime, violence and what have you. From the time that our ancestors were brought to the Americas we have gotten worse as a people and things don’t seem to be improving at all. As far as the trinity, that is just pure myth. I can’t believe that such a picture would be posted on DNO. It is high time we begin to realize that a people who enslaved our ancestors can’t free us through their religion. Oh my people of Dominica let it be known to you that the saying that He (God) is one out of three, or three different parts which make up one whole carry two major contradictions and one blasphemous edict. That is, all these three separate entities (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) would have either been eternal in themselves which would mean that they are three separate gods and not one, or one of these three entities would have had created the other two which would mean that that ‘Creator’ would have to possess the attributes of Complete Oneness before the creation of the other two; therefore He would not need them to make Him one and complete. The reality of God-head is that one should never try to separate His Essence because that would lead to DUALITY and whenever DUALITY appears UNITY DISAPPEARS. He Exalted is He is One and Absolutely Unique and is Attributes are Identical to His being…Perfect in every sense.
It’s ofcourse a debated subject for many years . However the bible does indeed and infact suppport the Trinity and commends it . As a matter afact there have been instances in scripture where the trinity functioned alongside each other from creation and down to revelation .

Read this content and please define them and later relate the attributes to the One true God , Jehovah Elohim , Shalom , El-shaddai . Only God is the Everlasting Father , Prince of Peace , comforter , Mighty God , Counsellor . All these attributes belong to the Creator . According to Isaiah , these are the attributes given to the coming Messiah . Who could redeem man from sin ? Who could save any man from his sin ? Only one who’s trighteous , and you have to be God Almighty to do such .
John 1:1-3 , 14 also read carefully , creation started with God . He always existed . Never was created . But he created all things and without God , nothing consist . so this same Child as was reported in prophecy of Isaiah , given to him by God Almighty to report to the people of Israel , this child was before creation in existence and made all things , including angelic beings . Without this child nothing existed , he spoke and the world came into order . His attributes are the same recorded in Deutoronomy 6:4 the only true and one God . Same as the Islam faith hold to view , however sadly the muslims has deviated from the true faith . I’d like my Islam friend to explain the pillars of faith . The Islam teaching holds on to view that Allah is One , Omni-potent , omni-scient , omni-present , but not a God of mercy , justice , Love , but a big terrible unforgiving god . What makes you think that your religion does not have any flows in it’s doctrines, off course there are doctrines in your religion that are controversial and can be disprove in the same manner. You rightly asked for the young people in Dominica to asked questions and take their concerns to the their priests and pastors, well what about questioning the Imams at the Mosque. The need should not only arise to learn about Christianity and it origins but also Islam and it’s origins.

We can’t really understand the concept of the Trinity since there is nothing like it in all existence. The Bible refers to God as singular (“The Lord our God is one Lord”) and plural (“And God said, Let us make man in our image”) because He is both.
The Bible never claimed to tell us everything about God. But we know God can be trusted and based on that, we can accept by faith what we can’t really understand. Christianity has existed hundreds of years before Islam and the Quran. These questions have been asked and answered a thousand times before.
Well, I think its people like you who are the ones who have gone against Jesus. Your book says he is a prophet, yet you do not believe anything he says? Does that make sense? He is the one who said “I am He”. and there’s the verse “His state was divine, yet he did not cling to his equality with God”. No christian believes there are two God’s. Jesus is a ‘person of God’. And in our churches, you are wrong – we are well informed. The church knows how to explain the triune God. You are wrong to say that they have failed to.
