Catholics from Our Lady of Fatima Parish joined millions of their counterparts worldwide to celebrate Palm Sunday on the weekend.

On Palm Sunday Christians celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection.

Also referred to as ‘Passion Sunday’, Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week which concludes on Easter Sunday, one of the holiest days on the Christian calender.

According to the bible, when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and covering his path with palm branches.

Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross.

Our Lady of Fatima Parish comprises New Town, Giraudel, Eggleston, Loubriere and all areas in between.

The congregation gathered at the New Town Savannah where the palms were blessed and a procession to the church followed.

The faithful were treated to a rendition from the Antigua National Youth Choir, which is now visiting Dominica.

Below are some photos of the event.

    “The Rosary white and gold,
    We take from the Thy Virgin hand;
A pledge of the power of God,
To heal and strengthen our land” ( Justice and Truth).

    What baloney!

In the first place nothing that is said in the quote above has anything to do with God!

There is nothing in that quote that is scriptural!

There is no place in the Bible where it states that the Virgin Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ had a white and gold rosary in her hand at anytime, in the time she was alive. The Roman Catholic cerate theses idols, and hang what they term rosary in the idols hands; he who worship idols are not of God, and their soul is already lost.

Jesus Christ never instructed his followers or any Christian to pray to his mother, I am certain when his disciple asked him to teach them how to pray, he taught them “the Our Father Prayer.” He also instructed that after he left this earth, when we pray to his Father which is in heaven, we should ask the Father for anything we want in his name (Jesus name) believing we will receive it and his Father will give it to us.

All of this nonsense about Lady of fatima are lies, made up by Roman Catholic priests in order to dominate the mind of the weak; this Catholic thing is taking plenty of people to hell.

If the doctrine is anything different than thus said the Lord, and is not found in the Bible it is false doctrine, which was hatched in the pit of hell itself, and devised by the devil, I do not care how glamorous the ceremonies may appear to be!

When one pray to the Virgin Mary, that is called vein praying, remember Jesus said ” for in vein they worship me;” those who bow before the Roman Catholic idols or the Saints they ordained, dead or alive, and pray to them is also a very bad thing to do, because Saints of God, are people such as you and I who are believers, in the word of God, and followers of Jesus Christ.

The Roman Catholic Church, nor what they called some pope has no authority from God Jehovah, nor Jesus Christ to declare any human a “Saint,” the Bible has defined us as saints!

I am smiling at your response. I do not dislike you or hate yu for that. My heart is at peace even whenever I write and am defending my Catholic beliefs, teachings and devotions. God expects this of us.
I was aware that my response would produce the devil’s graveyard and playground in the hearts and minds of some people. It is nothing new in this era as “Satan prowls about seeking souls to devour” for his eternal cauldron of everlasting fire. We are told to reject him.
Satan is quite at play here. His influence is prominent upon you as he surrounds you. He will do his utmost to thwart your mind and prevent you and some others from honoring The Mother of God.
Telemaque, you have no idea how much the devil hates the Blessed Virgin Mary. If only I could inform you about this information. It will take too long.
If only you would live up to the Ten Commandments of God and live a pious life.
Never denounce what you do not know. This is only your opinion which does not reflect the opinion of God, his plans and of genuine practicing Catholics. You cannot change a thing. As the saying goes, “go with the flow.” One day it will be revealed to you.
Telemaque, I urge you to get some books written by those holy Catholics who predeceased us who are today saints in Heaven. One of it is “Secret of the Rosary” written by St. Louis de Montfort, a great devotee of Our Lady. There are some more books which are written about her. You will only find them in Catholic book stores. If you purchase them and read them with an open mind, as you pray to the Holy Spirit and ask him to enlighten you, you will be surprised and marvel about her and why Catholics “honor” her. Our Almighty Father has ordained it to be. Catholics are correct and non-Catholics are wrong. I need not say any more at this time. May God bless and grace you with this enlightenment.

I do believe that the enemy of our souls also ensures that some errors are made especially when writing on religious matters and most of all pertaining to the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary no matter how perfect I want the writing to be and after checking for errors. God knows this too!

The entire Holy Bible (not the “Catholic Bible” mind you) the “Real Bible” is all about Jesus. He is the one who died on the cross to save us – He purchased us with his blood.
The virgin Mary did not die for our sins, nor did Peter, or Paul, or James, or John, or any other. Our focus should be to Honor GOD through His Son Jesus Christ; our Lord and Savior – no one else.
Jesus Himself said in (John 14:6) “I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me”.
Also, (1Timothy 2:5) says “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
You may also want to take your own advice about Satan. When we begin to believe we are Godly and others are not, it is called “pride”. Satan loves pride but hates humility so be careful. Put into practice the latter to protect yourself from being devoured.
        God Bless you.

      FETe

It is useless to say anything to these people, for they turn a deaf ear against us, as they claim to be of the Holiest of Holies.

I can still hear my grandmother, every 15 minutes reciting the words “O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have “recourse” to thee” That word “recourse” seem as if it does not even fit here. My grandmother died when she was 98 years old, a devoted Catholic–but what did she know about Holy Spirit–nothing at all–but no one has Life, if Holy Spirit is not conected to them throuh conscience.

The new Pope said in his speech, when he was anointed, that “Joseph did not only protect Jesus and Mary, he also protected the Church”–this Pope was talking about Joseph who was Mary’s husband. Joseph is only mentioned in Bible base on his dream, pertaining to Mary. The Church was no6t formed untill after Jesus was acended into Heaven–whete was a Christiaon Church for Joseph to protect, when the Book of Act tells us that “the disciples were called Christians at Antiosh”–long after Jesus had already gone back to the Father.

When you have a Leader with a congregation of almost 2 billion people saying such things to his congregation–how can these people ever hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the message of Life in the Holy Bible?

I give thanks to God for removing me from the Catholic Church, because His plan for me was that I would have Life in Love through Jesus Christ. He anointed me with this Life almost 15 years ago–I don’t see that happening in me, if I was still in the Catholic Church.

Sorry I am not in DA. Otherwise I would have participated in it. As usual Catholics throughout the world observed Palm Sunday in their parishes. This is one day the Churches are more crowded, also Good Friday and Easter Sunday. In order to get a seat it is necessary to go very early. Some of them are called C & E Catholics – Christmas and Easter Catholics. :)

    O Lady of Fatima Hail,
    Immaculate Mother of Grace,
O pray for us sinners, help us today,
Thou hope of the human race.

    The Rosary white and gold,
    We take from the Thy Virgin hand;
A pledge of the power of God,
To heal and strengthen our land.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee.

“Can someone show me in the Bible where Jesus said to celebrate the palm Sunday? Also, where in the Bible Jesus and his disciples or others liberated palm Sunday? @MIA March 25, 2013

Mia, yes I can show you! So read it below!

We all know that God Almighty, Eternal Spirit, Christ, in the form of the Man, who called Him Father, came to this world to be the ransom for the guilt of mankind, because He loved His people. John 3:16

We all know that He died and was buried; but He was resurrected on the third–meaning that He spend 72 hours in the grave and not 36 as most churches have accepted–that Man is Jesus Christ.

Therefore, though it is not known as Palm Sunday in the Bible, it is a fact that God commanded ancient Israel to observe the Passover Week, with the slaughtering of a lamb on a certain day of that week–as a reminder of their freedom from the bondage of slavery in Egypt.

And so Holy Week today, is in memory of Jesus’ death, as His perfect body represents the Lamb without blemish which was slaughtered for the sins of mankind once and for all.

Jesus died on that day of the Passover week, the day after the Lamb was slaughtered and the meat eaten in all the homes of ancient Israel. We know that Jesus too, ate the “Passover Meal” with His disciples in upper room of some one’s house in the city of Jerusalem–the night before His death.

So Holy Week represents the Passover Week, with the day on which Jesus died, according to the message of the Bible that day is a day earlier than Friday, if He was resurrected on Sunday. It is clear to understand because Friday to early Sunday morning is not 3 dayd and 3 nights.

The problems is that most Church rituals of today are not to their exact as in the Bible, because the churches are not in harmony with the message of the Bible. For example Jehovah’s witnesses are remembering Jesus’ death on Tuesday, March 26. They have a different day and date every year.

But Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week, which was known as the Passover week in ancient Jerusalem–here is the story of the palms(trees) in the Bible.

“So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them. They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” Matthew 21: 6-9

This demonstration in the Bible reflected the funeral of Jesus, because His death would happen on that day of the Passover week. But Jesus’ death and resurrection was prophecy fulfilled, as He conquered death; so that today, “death has no sting and the grave has no victory” in that it cannot keep us there.

Nonetheless, that assurance is for those who have accepted Jesus as their “Lord and Saviour” as they thrive in the Spirit–the Life in Love– by their conception and rebirth of His message of Life in the Holy Bible.

Can someone show me in the Bible where it is that you cohabited with a man for years and had a child out of wedlock with him? Conform your will to the Most Holy Will of God.
Can someone show me in the Bible where it is that people get divorced and remarry, having several children with different men/women and it is OK to do so?
Can someone tell me where it is in the Bible that Our Lord Jesus Christ said to those Catholics as you who renounced their Catholic beliefs to join other churches and the fallen away ones that what they state in response to what I stated about the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoring her and praying the Rosary which contains His Life, Passion, Crucifixion and Death should not be prayed and that we should not honor His Blessed Mother?
Did God give you a mandate to renounce it and criticize the Catholic Church for doing so? By no means!
Will some of you ever have a rude awakening if not in this life but as you die, when you die and after you die when you stand before God for your eternal judgment.

From the Hymn, “I’ll sing a Hymn to Mary, The Mother of My God””

O teach me Holy Mary, a loving song to frame
      When wicked men/women blaspheme Thee
I’ll love and bless Thy Name.

What God has ordained no human mind, tongue and fingers on the computer keyboard can ever change it. Praise be to The Blessed Trinity. Honor to The Ever Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ. God had a plan for her which is why He chose her among all women to bear His Blessed Son. As she spoke through the Holy Spirit, she said, “…Every generation shall call me blessed…”
If those who call themselves Christians do not know that and refuse to believe and honor her as God ordained, then they are disobedient to Our Almighty Father. It is a grievous/mortal sin to disobey him. They need to return to the drawing board.
As St. Paul said, “You need milk (as babies); not solid foods.” As babies, you are not yet ready for solid foods. Read Holy Scriptures – all of it. I feel sorry for you and your ignorance.

    Thanks for that Dorival.

And the Bible was developed over many hundreds of years, patched together by various writers over time. Fundamentalsits want to make people belive it came all at once like a complete package. Go and research the true history of the Bible.

And even Christianity was developed with additions and subtractions over the years after Paul. So if people celebrate the memory of Palm Sunday in this way what is MIA fussed about?

“Jesus himself said the world would not be big enough for books on what God has done, or something to that effect”. @ Dorival John March 25

Dorival it is good to know that accept some sayings of the Bible, but I need to let you know that it was not Jesus who spoke your quote above it was the apostle John–see the exact quote below.

New King James Version (NKJV) John 21: 25

“And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written”. Amen

Also, I imagine that you are simply being sarcastic, but you do have a point here.

      • March 26, 2013

Sweet sounding as what you said it; if it is not found in the Bible, good as it may seem, it should be noted only as the philosophy of man, and not the written word of God.

Remember, the Bible teaches that nothing can be added nor taken away from the Bible, anybody who try to deliberately translate it to suit their purpose they never last too long.

If the doctrine is of God, it shall prevail, if it is not of God it will destroy itself, and although I did not quote that verbatim from the Bible, that is written in scripture!

Oh yeah! One of the deadly sins is envy. There a non-Catholic, a fallen away Catholic goes again.  This is their argument. Where it is in the Bible?
Our Lord left us examples which we emulate in memory of him. The Hierarchy of the Catholic Church decided on the best manner in which to pay homage to him and to honor his memory according to Holy Scripture. Know that it is pleasing to The Blessed Trinity. It is not for you to question. If you possessed the grace of God and enlightenment, you would not ask this sarcastic question.
There are many passages in the Holy Bible that people do not adhere to, some of whom go about saying that they are Christians and this includes you. One of it is, Our Lord said, “Love one another.” If you loved God and loved others, you would have respect for their Catholic beliefs and devotions. You would not criticize it.
Do you hear or see any Catholic going about renouncing the beliefs and faith of others and without provocation? You do this to us. You are a persecutor of the Catholic faith. This does not sit too well with God who has heard you. Later for you when the truth will be revealed to you and you will regret it, who knows, to eternity. You are influenced by Satan. Take a back step.

Palm Sunday is not just about Catholics because the story of Palm Sunday is in the Gospels of Jesus Christ–that day is about Him.

My Church is not Catholic, but this past Sunday the message was about Palm Sunday according to the Bible. We will also be observing Easter Sunday, for we believe that Jesus died in the flesh and was resurrected.

The Bible seem to be saying that Jesus died earlier than Friday of the Passover week, but it is quite possible that He was resurrected early Sunday morning.

Jesus’ death happened on a day of the Passover Week, which some Churches of today observe as Holy Week–I know for sure that the Catholic Church is one of those churches–nothing wrong with that; because when it is about Jesus it should the concern of every one who claim to be a Christian–regardless of the name of their denomination.
