Excitement filled the atmosphere at the Coulibistrie Primary school as the Rotaract Club of Roseau hosted its annual Christmas party there on December 7th 2013.
37 pupils benefited from the club’s community service project, as well as some of the 2014 Princess Show contestants.
The pupils were treated to gifts, food, drink, and other party favors including a candy-stuffed ‘piñata’ while they danced and played with the joy shining bright on their faces. Ring games and hula hooping were among the games played this year.
The party was a huge success thanks to the generous donations from the Rotary Club of Dominica, Fine Foods Inc, Jolly’s Pharmacy, Fort Young Hotel, M & C Superete and Mr Alexandre Bonbois. A special Christmas cake was also prepared for the students by Jodie’s Sweet Art.
While in the spirit of Christmas, 6 new members were welcomed into the family of Rotaract on December 21st at the club’s joint dinner party with the Rotary Club of Dominica, its sponsoring Rotary Club.
The newly inducted members are Phil Austrie, Vernelle Edmund, Darah Hodge, Tichinah Jervier, Normanna Jno Baptiste and Shernica White. These individuals were given their badges, membership certificates and a hand in friendship from Rotaract president Tyishia Williams.
As 2013 ends, the Rotaract Club of Roseau thanked all its stakeholders for helping to make the year a success for the club, and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2014.
