Sarah Lynn Augustine, the mother accused of killing her two children, five-year-old Rachael Vigilant and two-month-old Sophia Vigilant, attended the children’s burial at a family cemetery in Delices Friday afternoon.
The Dominica News Online (DNO) representative who covered the burial was only informed that Augustine was present at the grave site after the burial. This was no surprise as the DNO reporter, while taking photos during the burial – along with several other persons – was particularly cautioned by a female police officer after she asked what media house the photographer represents. She said that Augustine’s family objects to photos of the caskets.
This was the same order given earlier to another DNO reporter during the funeral service at the People’s Pentecostal Church in Goodwill.
However, after scanning photos of the crowd at the burial, Augustine was spotted standing in the company of several known police officers, her mother, and psychiatrist Dr. Griffin Benjamin. She wore a sun glasses, a black scarf, and a black dress. It is understood that several nurses from the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) were present at the burial. A PMH bus was seen nearby.
DNO is not certain if Augustine requested to attend the funeral or she was brought their on the recommendation of health officials and/or family members. Sources however told Dominica News Online that Augustine asked for her children following their deaths.
The photos of Augustine did not show a mother expressively in mourning, and it was apparent that not everyone knew that she was present.
“Really? Where? You’re kidding me… never expected her to be there nah,” one lady said when asked.
The children’s father Eyan Vigilant attended the funeral service and the burial. At the funeral he appeared to be in a cool mood, smiling, talking and laughing with friends as they tried to cheer him up, but during and after the burial he appeared quiet, distant and the smiles were absent.
The burial was punctuated by several outbursts of “papa bondieu” by one mourner and loud cries from several family members of the deceased children, especially when the coffins were lowered in the grave. Some persons quietly sobbed and shook their heads in disbelief.
About 15 minutes after the burial ended, the rain came down heavily.
Earlier, the church service in Goodwill was packed by mourners, some of whom stood outside. The funeral ended with most singing, “Jesus loves the little children”, as the miniature coffins were placed in the Lyndhurst Funeral Home hearse.
The children’s body then went on a one-hour journey to Delices, their final resting place.
Augustine has not been formally charged for the Sept. 16, 2010 killings and earlier reports indicated that she is being treated for post natal depression at Princess Margaret Hospital.

I can’t believe this has happened… i feel sorry for the kids and to be quite honest sorry for the mom as well… I have no clue what could make a person snap like this… ppl go through their own sorts of depression and keep it hidden because they don’t want to be judged by others or simply they don’t have anyone to talk to and believe me, when u keep things inside it will literally eat you up inside and make u delusional…. I trully believe she was suffering way before she even had her baby and one night she just snapped… i looked at her youtube videos and i was thinking why the hell would someone make videos of their “BIG CHOP” she never mentioned she had just had a baby, this girl was partly crazy before and she probably got more stressed when she came to dominica and that was it….
I am 22 yrs old i remember being 19 I had just had a baby and i was so depressed i shaved all my hair off, i had put on a front like i was happy but i really wasn’t…having no one to talk to i would cry most of the time…Although i was severely depressed i had no intentions of killing my son… i have since gotten over my depression and i am now married and i have a daughter on the way and even though there are times when its very hard and i just want to go to a hotel for a week and leave all of my responsibilities behind there is no way i would slay my kids…. Lets all just pray for her and pray that something like this never happens again. take this tragedy and learn from it talk to ur family ask them how things are going… spend more time with you significant other especially when there are kids involved.. TALK AND LISTEN…

I think it is really high time we as Dominicans change out tone and accusation when something happens, we are all sinners in this world in case we forget a sin is a sin ,and i really do not think all of you people who are so easy to cast the first stone and condem someone are not any better.
Let us clean our closet first before we can make those accusations, after all we are all human and insanity can be around the corner at any time,Jesus forgive everyone who hurt him ,both parents are going through a very difficulty time and instead of praying for them we ready to send them to hell.

well some of ur statement are true but u must look up clearly the meaning of PPD.
i work a long time in da medical field. PPD also makes a mother retain some of motherly instinct. while we should not bring judgement on this young lady or condemn her we must be very careful not to jugde the case legally on our own as well.
its easy to feel sorry for her and forget the laws of the country we must have an open mind to what her consulers will find. and trust me dey will.
the country we live in is very small, no doubt the jurors must come from dominica, when we go poisoning persons mind dat its PPD she has, how does anyone even these children get a fair trial.
PPD is a depression which makes one emotional by crying alot, neglecting the baby when dey cry, shoving the bottle down dere throats, slapping dem very hard where u leave a bruise, sometimes whiel bathing dem if ur over come with PPD u might just run away and leave dem in da water where in most cases da babies drown, (but dats a big difference dan holding dem beneath da water and watch dem drown). PPD doesnt make a mother take a knife and stabb her children.

The fact that we are sympathetic towards her or recognised she is sick does not remove from the fact that the law will deal with this in the right manner. This can happen in any of our families, see what happen in Souffiere, it could be worse for any of us so if the police, counsellors and others are dealing with the situation before they press formal charges, let them do thier work. Most of us would like the same consideration and would not want to be judged. God said do not kill back because someone kill first, do not hate back because someone hate you. The law will deal with Sara, so some of you who pretend to care so much for the rest of the family need to make the time and get professional help for the others especially the father who was so aware of her situation and saw this coming all along.

I am utterly surprised at the stance the authorities seem to be taking with this crime. Yes, it is a crime. No matter what the reason, PPD or GP, the facts remain that 2 children were brutally killed by someone, in this case, their own mother. It seems that the system is sympathetic to her. Has she been taken to court for a preliminary enquiry for a magistrate to order a psychology evaluation. When or if will that happen? I am educated. For those of you who said that because we don’t believe in ppd we are uneducated. I believe in both post partum depression and post partum psychosis. But I’m also educated enough to look at the wider picture and understand that there could be other motives in this case.

If what I was told is true that the kids were born in Canada and they are Canadian citizens, I do hope that the authorities get involved in this matter and do a through analysis of this woman’s psyche. It’s alright for everyone to sit and judge. Who made us judge and jury? Its high time people on this little island of ours sit, take time out and read, educate yourselves on the troubles of this world. Dominica is not too small to feel the pinch. This young lady is suffering from some form of mental health problem and needs help, no one in their right mind would not do such a thing. She had a first child and may have been battling this illness. I have seen people done worst than this, she can’t live with herself, and she has this battle to face. While I do not condone her actions I do know that after looking at this particular case no one can convince me that these murders were premeditated. I did see the album fail and what I think about this is that this young lady was troubled and crying out for help but like I said in DOMINICA being Mentally Ill is like being an outcast. Apparently the medical professionals and law enforcement authorities are ahead of many of the people who have comments here in regard to postpartum depression. Allowing the mother to attend the funeral was part of her healing and helping her accept that the kids were gone. Counseling, empathy and support is what she needs from family, friends and community.

If Sarah is suffering from post-part um psychosis, then she is a danger to herself and to others. She must not by any means be let out of custody. She is a high risk case and should be treated in a high security facility while being given treatment for her condition until she has awareness.
alot of things are taboo that we dont agree to. did you know that homosexuality is a psychiatric disorder? Well it is in the dsm IV which is the bible for mental disorders. Post Partum depression is not easy. and she has to undergo treatment. treatment take weeks to take effect. Am a nurse in nyc, works with alot of psych patients, and i personally dont know the real story behind sarah doing this but i do know her illness is real. I dont support her for killing two innocent children. Alot, alot of behavioral problem in dominica. It is very expensive and alot of research is needed for treatment facilities outthere. back in the days they blamed it on voodoo. but indeed if you are psychotic and need help it is not an easy task. sarah is goin to have a hard time if she doesnt have support. the meds have terrible side effects and it is not easy to be compliant. there are different types of mental illness and you dont have to completely lose your mind to be ill. She could have been out of touch with reality when she did this. some pple hear voices, some dont. The assessment process is complicated and depends on alot of factors so i cant give her any diagnoses. I jus wish her and her family all the best. because having a family member with mental illness is a big responsibilty. It can drive the family crazy too.

There is one puzzling thing about this whole Sarah issue, and that is the grahic images of kids she had on one section of her FB page. For example there was one where a baby was placed on a BBQ grill and the caption says, when parents just about had it.
There was another one which had a baby in a kitchen sink full of dirty dishes and the caption said, a parent’s way of disciplining a kid. There were about 12 of these types of pictures on her FB pictures section that was titled “Fall.”
This raises many questions towards the motive of her actions. Was these pictures sending a message or Messages?? I am sure some of you might have seen that section on her FB page the day after the murders occurs.
What I found strange as well was that someone had access to her FB page during the time that she was suppose to have been in the looney bin.
Was this a pre-mediated murder?? Some sources even said that the night of the kiiling earlier when the babysitter was leaving she told the babysitter to place the both kids in the bed to sleep togather and place three knives by the bed before committing the act.
Lord have mercy on us all. This is indeed a very sad situation. It is obvious this mother lost her mind. no mom would kill their own child in sane mind. but we need to look beyond this. This is the devil at work. this is spiritual warefare…a warfare for the soul.

I believe in post partum depression and post partum psychosis. There is such a medical ailment.
What gets to me is how easy it is for the authorities and general public to decide that its because of this that she brutally murdered her two children without fully looking at the whole picture.
If you are not in “your right mind” to be able to commit murder then all who comes before the court on murder charges should be sent to the psych ward because they were not in their right mind also.
In my opinion this young lady could get away with a brutal crime easily judging from the general public sympathetic nature and the inablity of the authorities to handle such a tragedy.
And what makes my skin crawl, is how easy it is to see her sitting in the psych ward laughing inwardly at those of us who are gullible enough to accept it.
I wonder if this crime was premeditated, she knowin that we would assume its post partum depression, and get off easy, playing on our sympathy.
Maybe this young woman is much smarter than we really think.

My question is…was she diagnosed before or after killing the kids? I know first hand what it’s like to be depressed as I am going through it myself. My then 6th grader looked at me one day and said “mom you’re depressed” I looked at him and said “you can’t even spell that word” he told me they did a study in school and he went on WebMD. I went to a PCP and she confirmed what my son told me and now I”m being treated and doing very well. It’s sad what this young woman did to her kids but if she is really depressed then she had no control over what she was doing at that time. My depression was brought about by the sudden lost of my sister and g/mother and it’s not as bad as PPD. If she was diagnosed before taking the lives of the babies why didn’t she get the help she deserved? Where was the father while all this was taken place? I’m not faulting anyone but to the person who said she loved her kids; why didn’t anyone try to help her. I know it’s too late for the kids but she’s a young lady and I pray she gets the help she needs now and if d/a can’t provide her with that help they ought to send her some where she can get it. My prayers are with her and her family.

Sometimes I wish DNO would never open comments because I am shocked at the low class, ignorant, illiterate, insensitive, inconsiderate and a list of other adjectives to describe some of you. It is sad that so many of you only know to use the internet to chat, view gossip and make uninformed judgments and criticisms on anything. I always tell my children, be smart, speak, smart and thnk smart. If you don’t know about something do not pretend you know. I have supported people who I swear are crazy after a baby. I do it because I myself go through depression after child birth, crying, being very hateful and upset. No one understands you. The fact is a lot has been done locally to sensitize people on how sensitive and widespread are various forms of mental illness but some of you are so evil possessed that you do not care about anyone being ill but yourself and maybe one or two persons in your family. It is actually a sickness the way some of you behave towards someone who is genuinely sick and then use the internet to let the world know of how sick you are within. Any medical counsellor would certainly recommend her viewing the burial as never seeing this could affect her more drastically. We need to read or try to educate ourselves so we can learn and help others- thats why all our children speak is slang, curse words and low class language. Each time a doctor tells me something I go to google it. I encourage my children to read about these things on line so when they hear about it they can relate somehow. How sad it is to see how my people refuse to grow. I feel for each and everyone involved in this tragedy and will continue to pray for them…

Sad….Do you know what it means to be depressed? Why are you so quick to judge the young lady? Do you know her frame of mind? Do you know that there is a thin line between sanity and Insanity? Do you know that certain behavioral patterns predict mental illness to a certain degree? It is high time that in Dominica we change our arrogant and ignorant attitudes towards mental health…Sarah I do not know what you feel I don’t condone what was done but I do sympathize with her because I know all to well that mental illnesses are indeed real and are devastating if the person(s) does not get help asap.
I have a close family member who is schizophrenic so I know all too well what can happen if these mental illnesses go untreated. Educate and inform yourselves before you all become Judge and Jury. FaceBook is the place for all of us to invent personas. It is our escape from reality. We can hide behind a photograph and make up aliases and act out. The pictures are not of the same person! She might have posted the picture of a young woman she admired or wanted to be! Again we create fantasy on these sites and in a sense it’s a good thing. However, what we post, be it pictures, comments, or sentiments, they do stand the test of time to judge our characters! Obviously based on this woman’s posting several personalities might have existed within her. I wish the family well, and pray that the woman finds her self one day. I quite agree.As a Registerd Nurse in New York, I have been following the case.I recently did a symposium on post partum depression and this can last up to 2 years.I believe the press should have special privileges. It was a horrifying event and we as human beings want to know the good, the bad and the ugly.Thanks DNO for the pix(pictures)I know these people, may be related since my Mom was from Delices.How else are Dominicans abroad going to know and see what goes on at home?This is a modern age, no more sitting by the radio only!I pray that she finds peace in her soul.That little Rachel was too cute!Let us grieve for them.They are angels in heaven now!Dont be too quick to judge the mother, only God knows, keep up the good work, keep pushing forward to the forefront of any event for your pix ! As a young woman and mother I sympathize with Sarah and also the father Eyan. I think as parents we need to stop criticizing the young lady. Everybody is not the same and as such will react to situations differently. I am alarmed at the level of hatred being spread here on DNO. We claim to be “Godly” yet we do not portray anything close to Godliness. God is a God of compassion and no matter how people Judge you Sarah He will see you through. In the Midst of this storm he is ever present.No mother in her right frame of mind kills her children so no matter how much people talk don’t be bothered focus on getting better.
You need help mentally. I will be praying for you and Eyan. I do not know you all personally but this story has touched my heart because I have someone dear to me who is mentally ill as well.

As to the mother’s condition at the funeral, they must have brought her there for her to understand the gravity of the situation and that her children are in fact dead. As to why she is not appearing to be mournful, how are you so supposed to be mournful when you must have been given enough sedatives to calm you before taking you to your children’s funeral and if you are confused about all that is going on?
Dominicans we need to be more open minded and that comes with education, please, educate yourselves. And when we notice that our peers, neighbours, loveones are going through any kind of depression, don’t just pay it little mind, apparently it can be devastating.

I’m pretty sure if you had a team of doctors examine her they would come up with different opinions as to whether or not that’s what caused her actions…It’s not like she didn’t have any other motive for her actions…

Her facebook album “fail” should have given a hint. I was astounded by the pics she had on there. Eg. what seems to be a baby on a grill, a woman holding a baby by the leg (upside) down and other dreadful similar baby pics. That was enough to decipher something was wrong.
With that said, I think people are speaking prematurely and are too judgmental. Those of you who want her murdered what makes you any different from a murderer? Murder begins in the heart, not after you kill. So the desire that you have to see her die is that of a murderer. It seems like this young lady was crying out for help…As a community we are responsible for each other.
Why is it when it’s too late, we hear people saying ” Oh she should give me those kids” I’m sure if she came and asked she would be told: ” you make them, go take care of them. All you children too much like to put all you self in situations you can not handle”
Why wasn’t she staying with her family? ( She had to tell someone how she was feeling, why didn’t that person reach out and help her. Took her kids for sometime, give her a break to clear her mind.)
Everyone at some point had some kind of insanity\frustration\depression\stress…why didn’t her family notice this, if she lived in Canada she obviously came Dominica for a reason.
These are questions everyone who posted a comment on here should be asking, what can I do to prevent something like that from happening in my county again! These are situations that we do have more control over than we think….and sometimes it just comes with paying more attention to those around us…

Just wondering. Had the tables been turned,that is if the father had committed such a crime, would some of us reaction be diff?? We live in a biased society who cannot phantom a mother doing that to her own kids. Had it been the case of the father we would all have been ready to stone him to death.
I am not denying that something is wrong with her, but that does not EXEMPT her from the crime she committed.
Many of you are asking people to educate themselves on this disease (which we should all do),but if the family was aware that she had such a disease why were the kids allowed to be with her, knowing how how volatile such a situation is. I am really trying to understand why the mother was allowed to attend the funeral. It is said that she is suffering from post partum depression. I do not see how this would help her situation. Does she really understand what happened and that her children are dead? Did they tell her that they were burying her 2 children? What was the purpose behind this? I am sympathetic to the mother, but I do not understand. Let me look at her face again. If she does not understand that she killed them, why bring her there. I am confuse. She should have only being allowed, if she understood that her children are dead and that she needed to say goodbye, but she does not appear to be mourning based on the picture shown. This comment is in response to ‘me’. I know that you may be close to the families and you don’t like all the media attention, but the fact remains that this is the type of crime which would get international media attention for years- if it were commited in the States. DNO is actually doing a very good job of keeping people updated with the facts involved in this case. The public needs awareness- they need to understand her mental isllness, the signs, symptoms- so that something like this can be prevented in the future. I actually wish there were more discussions about the incident. This has affected more people than you can imagine- not just friends and family. People need to know that Sarah is being dealt with in the right way- legally and medically (which she obviously is not- since she was a llowed to attend the funeral). Once again I am sorry for the hurt that you are feeling, but DNO is just doing their job and they’re doing a damn good job!
We need to establish a foundation in Dominica to help women and men and teens fight DEPRESSION. Focusing on this grave issue, we have to realize that this mother of this two little girls didn’t get depressed over night. It was a long going issue. Many people with depression are right among us, in our churches, workplace, family and even friends. They may laugh with us and seem happy, but they are fighting this deadly sickness called DEPRESSION which comes in all different forms. The chronic state is when they resort to do something destructive. We must take drastic actions in our individual community and family to make sure that we reach out to each other so as to kill this diseases. What drives persons to depression is not the lack of material things, but the lack of SUPPORT AND LOVE. Some persons can survive on their own emotionally, but those who can’t and don’t get emotional stability throughout their lives, goes into depression. If a foundation is established, that is geared to help those in such a state of mind or seems to be leading in that direction. This is a very serious case and should not be taken lightly. In every society, there should be support in all areas of life. People who are depressed, don’t run and tell someone. They will show you so by pulling away and keeping themselves away from people they usually would frequent. We got to watch out for the signs and immediately reach out. They will not tell you what they are depressed about because it not just one issue, its a combination of many and becomes like a monster in their mind. You have to know how to show love and support without it appearing like you just seeking information. LOVE AND CONSTANT SUPPORT IS THE KEY…. postpatum depression is so real. i think we need to educate our people more about this illness. being a first time mom never knew i would be suffering fr that. heard about it untill i had my baby was so depressed , did not feel that joy about having the baby. when my dr asked me certain questions and i told her what was happening to me she explained to me that i was suffering fr ppd. its a thing u maybe suffering fr and don’t even no. she called me to make sure that every thing was going ok, gave me books to read making sure that i did not hurt myself or my baby. so people needs to understand that u don;t do these things on your own. something is trigging your brain to do these.my heart goes out to sarah and her family. so those uneducated people out there that r so negative get off the young lady back and do some research on ppd and u will understand.

My friend had a friend who suffered with Postpartum depression and the same happened to her kids. She killed them and was trying to killed thje police too and got killed in the process by gun fire. Sarah should not have been allowed to be at this funeral for many reasons. #1. Legal. Although she hasn’t been charged because of her mental state- she is supposed to remain under medical and police supervision- away from the public including other patients because she DID COMMIT a gruesome crime. #2. Medical- she is mentally unstable. Post partum depression/psychosis doesn’t resolve after 1 week of therapy and treatment. She still poses a danger to herself and others and should not be out in the public. #3 Emotional. A lot of people were affected by this murder. A lot of people are wishing the death penalty on this woman- some not understanding of her mental state. We don’t really want to see this woman right now- especially not at the funeral of the children she recently killed. I’m suprised no one tried to hurt or stone her! Damn it! Poor judgement on the part of the authorities- Legal and Medical- SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My heart goes out to her cause I was almost on the verge of suffering postpatum depression. Health officials we need a therapist at the maternity ward. I think it was a good idea that she was allowed to be there. However, in this case or any other case I do not believe that people who are insane or suffering from some sort of depression, should just be held unaccountable for their actions!! Though they should not be punished to the full extent as a person in their right mind, they should be sentenced and be allowed to get medical treatment while serving that sentence.

Dominica has once again proven itself as being a very unique place. Another part of the world under no circumstances would this mother be allowed to attend the funeral,for many reasons another than the legal aspects, be it on expert medical advice etc. But I guess Dominica is what it is. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the legal system in Dominica.

i’m a young mother of four children of 17, 14, 6; and 10 months old. i do agree that the mother should be punnished for her act. but i also think that attending to her children fineral is something very important too.it’s not avery good idea to throw stones against her but help her to understand why she did this then punish her;

Seems like most people who commented here do not understand what post natal depression or mental illness is. I cannot say she is mentally ill because I am not the psychiatrist, but if she is she would not have known what she did. It is like being in another world, believeing it to be real. If she is not diagnosed then, only maybe then you all can cast the first stone. In the mean time may the souls of two innocent children rest in peace. Very very sad way to go.

It is so sad that some of you will sit and ask for the death penalty for her, People who have mental issues are not aware of what is going on when it is done. Death penalty constitutes for one that is in a right state of mind during the action and is able to remove themselves from the situation before it happens. Before you judge her and talk about death penalty think and ask, if this was happening to me or my family how would I want myself or my family to be treated. Before all of this happened Sara was herself and it is unfortunate that this happen but now she is in a state of mind that we can’t understand unless we have experience it. Post Partum depression is not easy. She already has a life sentence of having to deal with this for the rest of her life what else do you all want.Before you judge please educate yourslef about this disease. This has nothing to do with a crime going unpunished. Dominicans need to wake up. Thank God you all are not God.
I understand that she is depressed that she would most likely not commit such an act under normal circumstances. That is some thing that can happen to any one with fragile heart and mind..However, she should not be set free like is a fly she killed. These are two innocent kids, I strongly believe that she should be institutionalized. She should definitely pay or else people will start killing people and we just going to say they depressed.
Any ways I find she has plenty heart . If she can go funeral, she can stand trial.
Another thing………a message to women and men. I f you all are in a relationship and cannot agree, please leave each other alone!!! Some women just think the have to have a certain man and if the cannot get them that is the end of the world. At the same time. Most Dominican men just feel their job on this planet is to womanize and give women stress!!! They feeling so large to have three and four women fighting for them and some of them don’t have nothing to show for it.

this is a very sad situation I hope that both the Augustine and Vigilante families support each other and do not play no blame game…It is going to be a very hard and long journey but with god they can make it with him all things are possible…god bless the families, only he knows what really happened…RIP lil ones god bless you..

I am of the opinion that Sarah was granted the opportunity to witness the farewell of her children for medical reasons . This young woman committed a bellicose act which has been blamed due to severe-postpartum depression . The rational behind my statement may seem ignorant to a few readers but it denotes the notion that Therapy begins . Understanding the brain and how it can controls our emotions are always complex . Depression is a deadly disease . It often leads to suicidal thoughts , thoughts of illusions , hearing voices , mania , loss of sleep , no feelings to socialize and even loss of appetite . Many people who suffers with depression have claimed that it feels as if a huge mass has covered their brain , making them totally submissive to its’ effects . One person once told me that He would prefer have his legs broken and be given pain-killers to control the pain rather than feeling his brain ” hurting ” him and not knowing how to control that pain . Depression is real people and we have to be very careful how we analyze and judge the accuse in this situation . Thank You for reading !
This is a mother who needed help. All the signs were there but no one took notice and
she went over the edge. Everyone goes through depression but there are diffferent types
of depression.
And the hospital should have a spoke person to educate the public/ or a medical doctor to talk
about depression. There might be other women out there!!!!!!
If she is charge for murder, she also need medical treatment (medication)
I am very concern that this young lady may just get away unpunished for her actions. We are not talking about the lives of animals here, we are talking about the lives of two innocent children.

We can make all the excuses we want but this woman should never see the light of day again. she deserves the death penalty and if those we my kids it would not just be 2 graves but 3.
Sadly, port partum depression is a very real and serious disease. It is also very unfortunate that it is not diagnosed sooner. In most cases people do not know they are suffering from it and therefore don’t seek treatment. Most times they just feel overwhelmed at caring for the children. When we decide to cast judgement we need to also include the facts. She needs help. I would not consider her a murderer. Those of us on the outside will make comments such as why didn’t she give them up for adoption or why didn’t she tell somebody. Well, she could not. She did not understand what was happening to her. There is a very famous case in the United States a few years ago where a mother killed her five children and laid them side by side on her bed. We need to be cognisant of uncommon disease processes such as Post Partum Depression. I wish her well and I do hope she gets the counselling she needs and I also do hope she considers having a tubal ligation so as to avoid recurrence.
