All set for Sugar Creole Basketball Festival

Organizers of the 2nd annual Sugar Creole Basketball Festival are hoping for good weather when the event kicks off on Friday at the Lindo Park.

The teams expecting to participate and have confirmed their attendance are St Kitts and Nevis, Martinique and host country Dominica. St Kitts is expected in Dominica today (Thursday) and Martinique on Saturday to play in this tournament.

The propose schedule is as follows:

Friday – 8.00 pm – Dominica vs. St Kitts & Nevis
Saturday – 7.00 pm – Dominica vs. Dominica Under 23
Saturday – 9.00 pm – Martinique vs. St Kitts & Nevis
Sunday – 6.00 pm – Dominica Under 23 vs. St Kitts
Sunday – 8.00 pm – DABA Closing Ceremony
Sunday – 9.00 pm – Dominica vs. Martinique

Teams will depart Dominica on Monday.

The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) will also take the opportunity to officially close the 2012 basketball season by handing out the championship trophies and individual awards to deserving players.

Dominicans are encourage to come in large numbers to support this tournament.

    8-O Yes I agree, this is great. it is exposure like this that will help upgrade our local basketball standards. The simple things are sometimes the hardest to do (espcially in D/ca), so salute to the organizers
