I feel it for PJ as a former PM he should be enjoying his retirement! So long PJ had to cool it and just relax himself! He could have prevented this thing after what he went through as a man in Politics! Is there any retirement package for former PM”s in Dominica! PJ Should now chill out and enjoy the remaining years of his life here on Earth! In life they Hail and den Nail You1 That’s the way it is: PJ should now be saying his prayers and go and have a good drink and chill out!

DFA had no choice after FIFA banned PJ. PJ did a lot for football but now he is found wanting and the matter is being handled by the relevant bodies so be it. The DFA Executive has been undermined over the years to the detriment of football. Therefore any member who is not comfortable, please do the honourable thing and do not continue to undermine football. For The Good Of Football.

It my opinion that the new management of DNO is going to destroy that Email Paper very soon, unless they change their policies of deleting the people,s comments. The news that are reported by DNO are reported by all Media mediums, what makes the paper popular are the many comments by the people. Stop deleting my comments. Why not put a user policy like the radio stations,e.i” the views expressed is not that of the DNO and the DNO will not be held responsible for any comments made.”What is wrong in saying that Pat John will fight his case legally and that ban was stupidness.

More football seems to be played… More individuals seem to be watching and playing football….. there are more incentives for football…….yet the quality of football doesnt seem to be improving…. DFA things are still not yet right………… please make it right

There is a simple saying that “what goes around comes around.” Mr. John you were long overdue in clear the way to allow football to develop in the nture ilsle. during our interaction yu always thought you had an idea that you wereputtig forward in dvelopng the game, but to my surprise your ieas ere stale and outdated and football never found favors in you. Instead you used the nam football to fortfiedyourself and giving tose of us who were with you that you were deveoping the game. To date there is no evidence to prove that you hve devlop football in the Commonwealth of Dominica, but rather placing the game in an old brief securedand hoping to find the combination for the lock one day so footall can escape from that brief case and survive. Well, I honestly feel that it has escaped, someone has gotten that combination on you and open to free up the game and mark you sir I have all confidence that the game is on its way t success.

Thanks to the clubs and teams that had th testicular fortitude to stnd up to those tht had love the see the game in that state and ralysuported you in your continued crave to suffoate the most lov sport in the world. We all wh were part of this justified assalt feel that we have liberated the game, not forgetting yur arrogance and the oppession of anyone who attempted to oppose you or even given the slightest different ide to tht of yours. This is no longer reality.

Now that you Mr. John has received hered card, believe it is fitting for your general secretary to do the honorable thing. We would b now know that the hoorabl thing would be to bring in the papers and resign. This is another individual that all he is intrested in is self. I hope that if he fis o act, that Mr. Ettiene will do wht h knows best in the interest of the sport.

What has happened PJ? They do not like you any more, or you are not performing?

  16. FOOTBALL COUP ??????
    July 1, 2012

ITS rather regrettable that once again P j has to be sunjected to all of this foolishness. No single DFA president has done more for the development of fooball than Patrick R John and a few opportunists have used his suspension by FIFA to damge his reputation and ceate an ILLEGAL COUP detat!!!!!!
The matter of the alegations of wrong doing which PJ has been accused and convicted by FIFA of doing has not yet been concluded legally. Its these very accusations that are being used aginst him that its said to have brought The DFA into disrepute but and a big BUT this matter has been brought before THE INTERNATIONAL SPORTS ARBITARAION body for final determination. Can the AGM decide desciplinar matters ? What about the DFA’s Disciplinary Committee ? Was PJ given an opportunity to be heard either through himself or his attorneys ? Is patrick Jogn being sentenced /convicted/tried twice for the very same offense ? What about natural Justice and due process ? What if the COURT OF SPORTS ARBITARAION rules in favour of Patrick John ? Whyf didnt the DFA executive wait until that court adjudicates on this issue before dealing with this matter ? If this is a disciplinary matter then was the proper princilpes and conditionalities followed as per the DFA consitution ? Did the DFA seek proper legal advice on this matter before going ahead with it ?
Am of the opinion that PJ will seek further legal redress on this issue and may well have to ask our courts to intervene…for those of you who think that this is a FIFA matter . you need to be informed that the supreme law of the land is still DOminica’s Consitution and not the DFA’s ofr FIFA’srukes etc. I hope that Hon Patrick R John seeks and gets an INJUNCTION frrom our courts to crush the resolution and I hope that his lawyers begin work on this as soon as possible.
DNO please note its THE PATRICK JOHN FOOTBALL HOUSE thats the official name of the football headquarters in Dominica.
POLITICAL FOOTBALL is on the all time rise and a gang of opportunists are all RED HUNGRY for positions on the DFA a dog fight is ensuring between harlem and tremors for first vice president position. Is it tremors that forwarded the unconstitutional resolution?
PJ DONT GIVE UP THE BATTLE IS ON ! WE ARE ALL FOR YOU !

That is an absolutley wise decision. Patrick and his friends thought all along that he would simply serve out his FIFAan then waqlk right back in as though nothing happened. The local association, I thought should have its own sanctions and so rightly so,they have acted. Talk of disception in th erun up to elections. Now since the Secretary serve at the behest of the President and since the present secretary was selected by the banned President – wht happens now. Should the president choose his own secretary?

The football association is backing up the wrong tree. If I know Pat John well,he will not take that stupidness lying down. They tried to get him to leave office as Prime Minister approximately thirty years ago and up to this day he has never resigned, therefore, look out for a fight. I predict that decision will cripple football in Dominica legally.Since the decision of Fifa, football has been running smoothly in Dominica, why not wait for the end of his term and vote him out,why bring out the heat on you.

    • Malatete
      July 2, 2012

Doc. Love. Lest we forget, Patrick John was convicted for treason and sentenced to 12 years in jail. Your assertion that he never resigned as P.M. is no more than an acdemic semantic and does the man no credit since our constitution makes it quite clear that no such convict may either stand as a candidate-, sit as a member of parliament or indeed as its leader.

Dominicans only unite when it comes to tear down one another due to petty class, political, and other social idiosyncrasies.

It it rather interesting to see that they have conspired to dump a great man instead of uniting and rallying with him against external pressures.

It is also interesting to note that that the Dublanc architect who hatched this sinister plot ouster this great elder statesman who have done so much for football is the same one who engineered a brief and disastrous junta that ran the DFA to the ground before it was re-rescued by PJ.

But as the saying goes Dominicans have ‘Memoir poule’ and will destroy thier own-selves to spite another. History is destine to repeat itself, this time they cannot say they did not know.

Dominicans know how to impose ban then? Isn’t it said that DA is a lawless country?
The Chief Jack Warner has been promoted to minister of National Security in T&T and you get the the boot? Pato Jack’s the big man, you might have to move Charguanas in JW constituency.

I’m sending out a Clarion call to all, ban persons involved in shameful acts of bribery, deceit, fulling their coffers and giving pittance to rest, bullies, false witnesses etc. across the board even myself.

There’s a lesson to be learnt in everything. I hope we all take note and don’t come on here placing comments like ignoramuses.

Let’s see what happens next a la mode Patrick John. When he lost political power in the early 80’s he plotted “Operation Red Dog” with Canadian and American mercenaries to try to restore his to power. That did work. When he lost football power in the mid 2000’s to the Francis gentleman, he allegedly launched a coup d’etat with the notorious Jack Warner to restore him to power. This one worked. “

I take this news with mixed feeling.

I am no fan of Mr. John. However, i admired his work while he served as President of the association. Thank you Mr. John. I hope that this ignominious end will not tarnish your legacy in the association. However, unfortunately, we know that many will not let you forget. So, i am saddened that this is how your service has ended. I still hope, also that you will be lauded at the appropriate time for your hard work in the sport, the fruits of which are all over the island. When you are praised, please accept the honour with humility for it is well-deserved.

I also note that the spirit of democracy is alive and well within the association. I salute those who fought the fight in order to have their voices heard. This exercise in democracy reinforces the broader context of free expression and people-oriented decision making that prevails on the island. And so, the mere launching of the petition is enough cause for me to smile.

SO, i accept this news item with mixed feelings.
