The Dominica Grammar School (DGS) has won the Secondary school 13 and under schools football competition to clinch their third football championship in the school year. D.G.S defeated the Saint Mary academy in the final by 3 goals to 2. The goals scorers for D.G.S were Donald Charles, Jeremiah Timothy and Chrisley Kernizane. S.M.A’s 2 goal score included one from Anakin Moreau and an own goal.

D.G.S also won the under 15 and under 17 titles.

DGS also defeated Portsmouth secondary school by 19 goals to 13 to win the under 16 sports division netball competition.

Top shooter for D.G.S was Kyla Winston 14 goals and for P.S.S, Anoushka Boatswain 8 goals,

In the under 20 division final, Convent High School defeated Portsmouth Secondary School by 33 goals to 28 goals. Top shooter for .C.H.S. was Tonilia Eli 25 goals and for P.S.S was Kellyana Pierre 12 goals

Pierre Charles Secondary School  Balata house won the ball-o-rama  competition in the opening of the United Insurance  under 20 cricket competition at the botanical gardens. In the  final, they beat the Dominica Grammar School Dupigny house. Scores .D.G.S 19 in 4 overs: P.C.S.S  24 for 6 in 3.4 overs.

The house  ball-o- rama  competition is used by the Sports Division to launch the various school competitions.

The under 20 cricket competition begins on Tuesday 21st  with I.T.S.S vs. G.S.S at the Botanical Garden in zone A and P.S.S vs. N.E.C.S at Jolly John in zone B and on Wednesday D.G.S will play .N.C.S at the Botantical Garden.

    Way to go my alma mater. we need to bring back the days when we used to do well in sports. I remember my netball days. Back then we used to be a force to reckon with. Now i see we are coming back. Way to go DGS.

    Thats great news. Remember the days when DGS was top in all sports?…athletics, cricket etc…those where the glory days.

    Good going schools…Sports Division keep ensuring that there are events planned for the young people and schools, please encourage the students to participate in sport….it is a helpful and beneficial activity. Too many obese children nowadays…and too many conflicts..sports can fight against all these and more.
