@Robert R. Guiste: The plight of sports people in DA… Don’t worry bro like I said that will come through.. I liked the analogy of shooting melons outdoors when you ate being judged for shooting apples on a kids head. Keep up the good work bro! I will give you guys all your praises now that you are alive!!!

DAVA and staff is the best damn organization in the World. You guys make it happen with little resources. Sacre bleu! Donne Les gens le récognition s’il vous plait!

@Homeboy: I know you got my back dawg. But whoever wants to take it politically can go right ahead and do so. but it is high time that we sportsmen and women get a little bit of recognition. Brian Lara got soo much from us for breaking a record but our own people cannot even get a facility to train properly….and that is all we ask.

@Ben laden..we defeated St. Lucia in straight sets just two years ago. Back then i was assistant coach/Manager of the team. One thing that many people do not understand is that training outdoors for indoor volleyball is like practicing shooting at watermelons to eventually shoot an apple off a kids head. almost every club in St. Lucia has its own court, plus the national team has an indoor court at its disposal. We hardly have a place to run a NATIONAL (bleeeep) LEAGUE much less to train our team. Had it not been for Lime Dominica’s generator, we would not be able to train at all.

so stop your BS about we not ever beating SLU, get your stats right, and at least give the guys some credit for going out there and at least capturing the silver. And for all those who are not satisfied with our performance, we have a Blackberry raffle in an effort to help our players prepare for upcoming competitions, i hope you all help the cause and purchase a raffle book…or at least a ticket..

@Robert R. Guiste: Well said Crips tell them as it is!! This is not political! Everyone talking about violence and giving the youths something to do to pass their time. Well here is a great opportunity to do just that.. Ad per Mr Guiste fix the damn facility at stockfarm..

Don’t worry bro, that is on my list of things to do when I win the lotto! Take that to the bank.. Rovers 4 life

Yasheen, Cripps, Reggie, Ray and David ( Mr La Pointe).. Keep up the good work.. You guys have been doing this for over a decade. Wow.. I wonder if Pwelly, Macky and Glenn can come back and have an impact… Hmmmmmm

  9. September 28, 2010

Thanks for all your congratulatory messages guys. it is deeply appreciated. One love, Pwelly

But now i think that it is high time that some serious budgetary consideration be given to our indoor sports and sportsmen/women. The guys had to battle the weather and long distance travel just to get to training. Rignald Thomas, for example, had to literally hitch rides to portsmouth after training. Ithoma James had to come all the way from Marigot. Many of our best players from Marigot and Portsmouth were unable to get to training.

The Association is struck for cash and is hard-pressed in their efforts to raise funds. and the public sector does not help much.

I know i am going to get licks for saying that, so i have my hard-hat on, but i think instead of a 27 million dollar house for a “ceremonial” president, we could make a verandah or something a little smaller and use a teeny bit from that to rehabilitate the stockfarm complex which the volleyball association has already cleared up, rewired and had some of the lights replaced.

With that being said, as manager of the team, I would like to personally thank LIME Dominica for the use of their generator to facilitate our training, Petro Caribe for providing fuel, the PS of the Ministry of Sports for handling some of the Airfare to the BVI’s, Our Liasson Officer in the BVI’s, Seaman and the Dominica-BVI Association for your support during our competition.

Its good to be congratulated for an excelent job- but it would be better to be congratulated with some monetary gift or some stuff like that. Many of the guys who represent Dominica dont even own a decent salary – worst yet to get time offf for practice. These guys need a good big up from the state;s funds. If these guys get some money for their efforts well well thats money well spent. Just ask these guys how much money they have to spend from their personal savings in order to represent Dominica. Invest in sports or get folks who can manage sports well enough. To make a big story short – there are far to many in Dominica who render lips service when it comes to sports. So the guys came out second -welll listen to the nice talks and speeches – but how really cares about sports? One way to find out is to look at the sorry story facilities in Dominica. Another thing is the hypocrisy that is shown when some sporting hero dies. Some of these guys have died and sadly in poooor situations – its like manicou, agouti and dog urinated on them. But God will surely reward them for their great works. No agouti, manicou and dog to pee on the them on the other side. May God bless all our sports personalities.. both from town and country.

whats de goverment’s plan for volleyball and sports in General. They various teams have been doing very well lately and what kind of recognition do they get from the state. They sportsmen and women deserve better facilities – both indoor and out door. The windsor park stadium is good but what about some sporting facilities for town and country? I dont think that sports folks are respected in Dominica as they ought to be. Playing sports in Dominica is like free- in up and takin sweat. I would like to know the plans the ministry sport have in place for Dominica. Come with it. How much money was alloted to sports development in Dominica during budget? Is there a budget for sports development in Dominica? Use the tax payers money to empower the sons and daughters of the tax payers1! Trust me – even the volleyballers neeed a bligh and some good money to put in their pockets – its like first place still broke – second place more broke —
Give dem fellas who keeep the flag high – more dan some states men and women – some money and a piece pf land to build a house –

The sportsmen and women are my real heros- so promote sports

Good Good job guys. I live in the BVI and supported my country all the way. The made us proud and we are thankful that the made it second. Now we really have to fine so way to beat the Lucian team. I tell you St.Lucia team was a real force to reckon with. So thats more the reason why we have to big up our team even more for a job well done. They all did their part.

I still think that we would have given them a tougher fight if Johnny was not injuired. Well done. It was also good to see Mr. Serendo there giving his support.

Hats off also to the management team. DA all the way.

I commend the effort of the team and management and by extension, the DAVA and Mr. Soso. However, the team needs to come up with a formula to beat St. Lucia. We have always been beaten by the Lucians in the finals. It is time for us to beat them.

Go back to the drawing board.
