Dominica names national team for OECS volleyball tournament

Kairann George

The Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association has named a nine-man squad to represent Dominica at the 2010 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association.

New-comers Kairann George and Herskel Gregoire join skipper David Toussaint along with Ray Robinson, Germaine Ettiene, Ronald Bruno, Reginald Thomas, Ithoma James and Johnny Seraphine.

Head coach for the team is Jeffery Edmund while Robert Guiste will serve as team manager.

The team is scheduled to leave for the British Virgin Islands on Thursday, September 23 to return on September 27. The other teams participating in the tournament are hosts BVI, Grenada, St. Kitts & Nevis, Anguilla,  Antigua & Barbuda, and St. Vincent & The Grenadines.

Coach of the Dominica team Edmund believes that his team is prepared and that we stand a good chance at recapturing the ECVA title.

Calling on all Dominicans in the BVI to turn out in large numbers to support our brothers. I know the BVI national team has been training tirelessly twice and sometimes 3 times a week. Please support them and to the team members, do not let ur guard down. Come out and represent. This is not a trip to get to know somewhere but to make Dominica and yourselves shine.

@tax money what the hell does labour (or any politics) have to do with that? besides if though labour doing good things, isn’t there a ministry of sports in any government all over the world? so what exactly is you dumb ass point??

@tax money: You are a retard.

You people just can’t resist putting a political spin on everything. That’s a disease…and it’s hurting the country.

I guess you know nothing about Dominica volley. Jeffery Edmund is synonymous with Dominica volleyball; as an original player(representing the national team for many years), official and administrator.
