Dominica’s men football team received the second place position in the 2015 Windward Island Senior men Football Tournament which ended in St Lucia on the weekend.
Playing it’s final match on Saturday against St Vincent & the Grenadines, Dominica needed a win to capture the title.
However the team went down 1-0 and had to settle for the Silver Trophy.
Last year Dominica came last in the tournament which was held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
At the closing ceremony the Dominican team recieved the Fair Play Trophy.
Also five Dominicans were named on an 18-man Windward Island Team. They are Glenson Prince, Malcolm Joseph, Randolph Peltier, Briel Thomas and Chad Bertrand.
Meantime, a 20-member strong squad leaves the island on Tuesday to take on St Vincent & the Grenadines in two under 23 pre-Olympic qualifiers.
The matches were supposed to be on a home and away basis, but due to the unavailability of the Windsor Park Stadium due to a Test cricket match, Dominica will have to play both matches in St Vincent.
The team which is captained by Malcolm Joseph reads, Elijah Toulon, Casey Henry, Jeremy Walters, Eustace Marshall, Chad Phillip, Davorn George, Gylles Mitchel, Tristan Alfred, Briel Thomas, Naeille Lee, Scottie Phillip, Anferney Frederick, Delroy Parker, Derrickson Mc Donald, Rai Phillip, Eli Vigilant, Sidney Lockhart, Romario Burgins and Kennico Soans.
