First round of matches in Courts/LIME National Rounders League ends

The first round of matches in the Courts/LIME National Rounders League ended yesterday with the following matches.

At Salisbury, Bawi Overcomers had a convincing 105 run victory over Layou Conquerors in their first win of the season.  Bawi batted first and scored 313 in 40 overs.  Sherila Joseph 79, Estella Labassiere 45, Elpha Williams 43.  Layou Conquerors scored 205 all out in 26 overs.  Carol Christopher 106, Patricia John 24 Karlina Charles 20.

Canefield Vikings won Kubuli Super Stars by 5 wickets.  Kubuli Super stars 238 for 7 in 40 overs.  Darci Talbert 50, Chezie Esprit 37, Yvonne Benjamin 28.  Canefield 243 for 6.  Christabel Francois and Alex Rolle 39, Josette Andrew 29.

Matadors outplayed the Police to win them by 231 runs.  Matadors 320 for 4.  Sandra Angol 83, Celia Toussaint 78, Annie Tavernier 39.  Police 89 all out in 13 overs.  Marcella Lafond 21, Keisha Alfred 19, Beryl Blondel 13.
Hester Adams bowled out 7 of the 11 wickets.

In round 2 which starts this coming Sunday the top 4 teams in the South Zone, ACS South Defenders, Tremors, Dubique Stars and LIME Hagley Unpredictable will match up against Central Zone’s top four, Courts Mixers, Matgadors, Canefield Vikings and Kubuli Super Stars, while KT United, Kalinago Strikers, Domsetco Stars and Home Base Boetica will come up against West, Capuchin Reformers, Diamond All Stars St. Joe, Dublanc Almond Stars and Colihaut Silver Stars.

The fixtures are as follows:

KT United vs. Capuchin in Jolly John from 1.00p.m
Kalinago Strikers vs. Dublanc Almond Stars at Dublanc from 1.00p.m.
Domsetco Stars vs. Diamond Stars St. Joe at Riviere Cyrique at 1.00p.m.
Home Base Boetica vs. Colihaut Silver Stars at Colihaut at 1.00p.m.
LIME Hagley Unpredictable vs. Matadors at Soufriere at 1.00p.m.

    Bawi 1st rounder is over and layou and bawi out so now its freind match time.plan a match with layou again show you can beat then again what you think this time it should be in layou ground.

    The first round was very good. Even if we didn’t qualify, I am sure the committee and all sports lovers and organizers will agree Rounders Making positive progress. Hat off to the committee. I am sure many more teams will take part in 2012
