In front of a huge and appreciative crowd at the Lindo Park Hardcourts on Saturday night, the curtains were closed on the 2011 season with the Gatorade Blazers emerging victorious over No Look in game 5 of the Domlec Premier League Finals by the final score of 84 – 73.
After a very keenly contested and well played first three quarters by both teams, the Blazers took control of the game early in the 4th quarter, capitalizing on the absence of big man Garth Joseph, who was on the bench in foul trouble.
The Blazers’ pressure defense caused No Look all sorts of trouble in the 4th quarter, resulting in several No Look turnovers and easy fast break buckets for the Blazers. The No Look veterans had no answer for the quicker younger Blazers, who were able to assert their dominance and take full control, winning the game by 11 points.
Although they were defeated by the better team, the No Look players can hold their heads up high and can be very proud of themselves, having stretched the formidable Blazers to the limit in an exciting 5 game series in their first full season as a team. So as the dust settled on the 2011 season, the experienced Blazers showed basketball fans that they will continue to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come, while No Look will try to make some adjustments in the off season, build their chemistry and come back even stronger in their quest to dethrone the Blazers in 2012.
The Blazers team were lead by Thomas Felix with a game high 24 points and 6 steals, Ricky Toussaint with 19 points and 9 rebounds, Lyndson Lynch with 15 points and 3 steals, Lester Langlais with 9 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists, and Sein Reid took home the Jeffrey Joseph award for most rebounds, notching a game high 13 rebounds and also scoring 8 points. While for No Look, Donnie Robinson lead the way with 20 points and 8 rebounds, Garth Joseph with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Ken Leslie with 13 points, Bernard Mills with 10 points and 8 rebounds, and Levi Barron chipped in with 10 points in a losing effort.

let’s go blazers, let’s go! champions on any court, any village, under any management!!!you cant keep a good team down, no way!
Dee dee gave blazers the game, 3 turnovers in the begining of the 4th quarter and foolish subs. They had a rastaman playing a kind of defense for them and more than 4 minutes to go he put the man on the bench after they brought the lead down to 7 points after being down 15, them man could still win the game if they still had the defense. I don’t know what deedee was thinking.
Congratulations to the Blazers team. Great all round performance from the players. Kuddos to Javed, Thomas, Lynch, Lester, Sean and rest of the crew.
