Students in the north of Dominica are being prepared to become the island’s future cricketers. Over thirty of them participated in a two week cricket summer programme which was organized by the Starz Cricket Academy.
The students, ranging in age from three to ten years, worked with a number of coaches. They were taught how to bowl, bat, field and they were also taught discipline.
Coordinator of the Starz Cricket Academy, Glen Joseph, described the two week cricket programme as a major success and said it will be an annual event for the students of the north. He added that the programme will continue on Saturdays during the school year.
The students were all presented with certificates.
Meanwhile, the final of T-20 Cricket Competition organized by Starz Cricket Academy and sponsored the Universal Security Corporation, will take place on Sunday 7th September in Vieille Case between Dublanc and Penville.
The match begins at 1.00 p.m.

Excellent discipline and keeping them busy and free of idleness throughout their school holidays. Playing cricket on Saturdays is something they should look forward to. Great exercise too.
