ROSEAU, Dominica, Mar 19, CMC – National players Kavem Hodge and Jerlani Robinson, have been included in a relatively experienced squad selected for this year’s Windward Islands Under 20 tournament starting later this month in for St. Vincent.

The 13-man squad will feature five players who were part of the winning team when the tournament was held here last year but the bulk of the new players have represented the country at the Under 13 and 15 levels before.

Coach of the team Leroy Jno Lewis, though not totally satisfied with the overall preparation of the team, believes that the team should retain the title.

“This year, I think that we have a pretty good chance of winning the title again. The team is one that comprises many experienced players and a lot is expected from them,” Lewis said.

“Although we did not prepare as well as I had hoped for, I still believe that we are ready for the tournament and we will give a good showing,” added the former Windward Island spinner said.

Hodge and Robinson will shoulder the brunt of the batting while the bowling department will be spearheaded by fast bowler John Fabian with support expected to come from Hodge and Odiamar Honore.

The team is managed by former national opening batsman, Pelham Jno Baptiste.

While no captain has been named, it is widely expected that Hodge will lead the team.

SQUAD – Odiamar Honore, Emmanuel Peter, Jerlani Robinson, Kavem Hodge, Kyle James, Dion Vidal, Elton Mark, John Fabian, Danny Dupnigy, Durani Charles, Derek Peter, Kimron George, Cyril Hyacinth.
