Hurtault gives Dominica first medal at CAC Games

Dominica picked up its first medal at the 23rd staging of the Central American and Caribbean Senior Track and Field Championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on Friday.

Quarter-miler Erison Hurtault captured a bronze medal after finishing third in the men’s 400m final in 45.93 seconds. Trinidad & Tobago’s Renny Quow won the event in 45.44 and Ramon Miller of Bahamas finished second in 45.56.

Hurtault earlier qualified for the final after finishing second in 46.20 behind Quow (46.11).

Hurtault, who is based in the US, has a personal best time of 45.40 and represented Dominica at the last Olympics in Beijing, China.
