West Indies Cricket Board announced today that left-arm fast bowler Kenroy Peters has been called up as replacement for Kemar Roach on the ongoing three-match Test Series against South Africa.

Roach injured his right ankle while bowling on the first day of the first Test match at SuperSport Park last Wednesday. He will return home to continue his rehabilitation.

Peters, 32, who is from St. Vincent & The Grenadines, was the leading bowler in the 2014 WICB Regional Four-day Tournament. He has so far taken 190 wickets (average 20.21) in 62 first-class matches.

The West Indies Cricket Board also announced on Saturday that left-handed batsman Narsingh Deonarine will replace Assad Fudadin in the South Africa tour.

Fudadin suffered a fracture of the right little finger during warm-up on the opening day of the first Test.

Deonarine, 31, is also a capable right-arm off-spin bowler. He has so far played 18 Test matches. He has been in good form recently in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional League Four-day Tournament with scores of 139 and 110 not out.

Deonarine will depart the Caribbean as soon as his UK in-transit visa is processed.
