West Indies vice captain Kraigg Brathwaite had an amazing match to lead West Indies to an historic five-wicket victory on foreign soil in the third Test match against Pakistan at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The 23-year-old made 142 not out in the first innings and followed up with an equally important 60 not out in the second innings.
It marked the first time in the 2,228-game history of Test cricket that an opening batsman was not out in both innings.
In the second innings he added an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 87 with wicket-keeper Shane Dowrich, who made 60 not out to lead the visitors to victory.
Brathwaite ended the three-match series with 328 runs (average 82.00).

Well done, Kraigg Brathwaite!
Hats off to Holder and Bishoo too! The talent cupboard is obviously not as bare as it sometimes seems to be.
It’s one thing to have flashes of individual brilliance here and there, but it’s a totally different thing to put on consistent, match-winning team performances against top-level opposing outfits. We need much more of the latter if we are to regain our standing in the test cricket world.
This young West Indies Test team continues to show signs of definite improvement. Well done fellas. Now work on maintaining consistency in performances. That’s the main issue – maintaining consistent winning performances.
Keep the greedy money-serving cricketers and their behind-the-scenes handlers away from West Indies cricket.
Now on to the upcoming one day international tri-series in Zimbabwe between Zimbabwe, West Indies and Sri Lanka beginning in about 11 days. All the best TEAM Windies!!!
Actually the WI performed poorly on that tour..They lost the T20,the ODI and the test matches…
Dream on channel 1. Many have seen flashes of brilliance from the West Indies team since rebuilding stared more than a decade ago, but we still hold fast to the bottom, so a rare win is really nothing to shout about.
