NATIONAL ROUNDERS LEAGUE: Results of first quarter-final matches

In the quarterfinal matches of the National Rounders League played on Sunday at Jolly John, C.T. United defeated Lynflic Original of Grand Fond by 7 wickets.

C.T. United batted first and scored 467 for 3.  Victoria Burton 136 not out and Portia Burton 93.  Lynflic Original 403 all out.  Nisa Phillip 229 and Evelyn Jno. Hope 34.

In the second quarter-final at the same venue, the unbeaten Marinor L.A. Stars continued their winning ways with a 184 run victory over Fantastic Stars.  Batting first Marinor LA Stars scored 444 for 5.  Sylma Eusebe 99, Sherma Guiste 85, Stacia Prosper 54 and Yvette Cuffy 35.  Fantastic Stars 262 all out.  Melinda Florent 76, Roseanne Florent 26.

In related news, the final qualifying match to determine the undisputed leader in the South Central Zone had to be abandoned because of an unprepared field.  As a result Tremors and Scrunters Reformers were awarded one point each.  The final points standings have left the zone in an unexpected ending as follows:

The second set of quarter-finals will now be played as follows at the Pottersville Savannah  on Sunday 17, with the top teams being A.C.S. Sout’ Defenders and Tremors.

10.00a.m. – A.C.S South Defenders vs. Capuchin Reformers
2.00p.m.  – Tremors vs. Canefield Vikings

The two semi-final matches are scheduled to be held at La Plaine on Sunday, 24 October.
