Alick Athanaze says he’s delighted to be the captain. “I’m elated to be captaining the National U-19 team and we’re going to try our best to bring the trophy home. The Team has been training hard for the last seven months and, having come second last year, we’re looking to move up to the top spot,” he said earlier today from Benjamin’s Park where training has been ongoing.

Dominica will come up against host country and defending champions, SVG, Grenada and St. Lucia. The two-day competition format is scheduled as follows:

The team was identified by a panel of selectors put in place by the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA) and headed by Charles Walters (Chairman). Other members included Liam Sebastien (Director of the DCA Cricket Academy), Sam Kirnon (Head coach) and Mervin Thomas (Development Officer).

The tournament is being sponsored by the Windward Islands Lotteries Inc. for the second consecutive year.
