The official opening of the LIME 2011 National Basketball League, featuring the Kubuli/Vitamalt 1st Division and the DOMLEC Premier Division is carded for this Saturday, April 9th, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. at the Lindo Park Hard Courts.
As part of the opening celebrations, the Dominica Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) has decided to recognize some of the stalwarts of the basketball community who in some way or another have made a difference in the sport. To that effect, this year we are honoring the 1976 National Team, who was the First National team win the Windward Island Basketball Championships.
In addition, Hon. Justina Charles, Minister of Education, Sports & Culture will be in attendance and be delivering addresses to the teams along with league sponsors, LIME, Dominica Brewery & Beverages Ltd & DOMLEC. The Prime Minister of Dominica, will be represented by Hon. Kelver Darroux.
All teams are expected to be present and a Ball-o-rama competition will be staged along with different competitions for the fans.
We take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support in the past and we look forward to your continued assistance as we try to improve the sport and the lives of the athletes that form part of it.
