Paix Bouche duo wins domino pairs competition

Hulbert Remy and Arlington Walter from league champion Clara house Rockers of Paix Bouche are the 2014 White Oak Rum Domino Pairs champion.

In the final played on Sunday at Mero in front a huge crowd, they got the better of Dennis Johnson and Brendon Joseph of Wake Up Stars domino team from Portsmouth by 4 sets to 3 sets.

It is the very first time that a pair of domino players from Rockers has taken part in the competition.

In addition to a $200.00 prize, one case of white oak rum and two trophies, the winners also get a chance to represent  Dominica in St Kitts to play against other pairs from the region for a $10.000 grand prize.

The runners up received $300.dollars, one case of white oak rum and a trophy each.

Dominica is the defending regional champion.

      Fellas cannot play dominoes now. All them man doing is sign sign sign and that killing the sport. In my days of playing dominoes you had to read players hand and that is y it is such a powerful mind game. But the kind of sign man making now awa we just talk they remaining to talk it just now

    I find that it was unfair that the rules of the competition informed the players that they should not make any signs and this was not the case..it was visible that there was a lot of sign language at the competing tables. and its not right that player who stuck to the rules got cut off for being fair. i think the organizers should look into this for next year as this kills the competitive spirit of the domino and pple will not want to take part.
