Patick John says he has not received notification of charges from FIFA

John

President of the Dominica Football Association Patrick John said he has received no official notification on a decision by FIFA’s ethics committee relating to the cash for votes scandal.

John and Phillipe White, both from Dominica, are among ten individuals being charged.

John says however he had only heard about the charges.

“I have been getting calls about other people from that however I have received no letter, no email, and no instruction about FIFA on the matter. It looks like everybody knows about it than me. I don’t know what I am being charged for, what I am being charged about, I just don’t know,” he said.

John said he conducted an interview in St. Martin and issued a statement to FIFA there.

“We made a statement, sign it to be true and authentic. FIFA signed saying they have received the statement and that was it. Since then I heard nothing from the committee. I am really shocked about their statement because I should have known before the press,” he explained.

In July, the ethics committee ruled that Bin Hammam had made or offered cash gifts of $40,000 to each of the 25 Caribbean Football Union chiefs at a special meeting in Trinidad in which both men attended.

Under FIFA’s code of ethics, officials are not allowed to accept cash gifts and must report suspected corruption.

Meantime White says he is awaiting an official letter from FIFA before he could respond.

In June, Jack Warner quit as FIFA vice-president and head of the CFU after he was charged with bribery.

He claimed there was a FIFA conspiracy against Caribbean football.

PPL BEFORE WE CONDEMN THE MAN WE HAVE TO GET CONFIRMATION THAT HE TOOK THE MONEY. fIFA WILL CHARGE EVERYONE THAT WAS AT THE CONFERENCE SO OBVIOUSLY DOMINICA WOULD HAVE BEEN CHARGED EVENTUALLY. IF THEY TOOK THE MONEY THEN THEY HAVE TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES.

This practice is nothing new in Sports. Olympic bidding cities offer the same to countries for their votes. I guess FIFA for whatever reason has decided to out Jack Warner. This is just something personal.

The problem that I have about these guys accepting case for votes, is that they are pocketing the money for personal use instead of using it to improve training and personal development of players and Football in Dominica.

The same happens with the National Olympic Committees. We need honest people in these Committees.

I am not saying they took any cash but if they did just come out straight and say so, explaining why they did and maybe it won’t look or sound that bad.

This is nothing new from the right Colonel to say that he has not received any information regarding his charge. In other words he is saying that he has not being charged, so he has no explanation to give to the media.

A note to the wise is to stay tune for the next stunt of the colonel. Mark my words it is coming.

When caught, the best defence is to say the accuser has something against me. Modus operandi of Warner and his acolytes.
