It is all good that there is an intention to select a national team from a cross section of teams, but my concerns are, who are the selectors and who are the coach or coaches? If you are having tryout to select a national team ,isn’t it a forgone conclusion that the national coach or coaches should be made public and he(they) would be part of the selection panel ?Is there a battle to select a coach or coaches?
what is going on IS Mickey Joseph still running basketball as a dictator? well again he will be the self selected coach.Again it is all about Mickey Joseph.

some of them basketball players awaiting their pension………..Joseph, Toulon etc etc………oh please where are the Dominican young B.Ball players? it seems to me there is no future for basketball in DA…they might as well recall PEMBO, DERICK BIRMINGHAM, JASON RICHARDS and ASHWORTH DANIEL…………….pure crap!!!!!

There are some young players on the list. You can’t pick someone just because they are younger nor because they are older. You have to pick people who can not only perform on the court but also no how to handle themselves & behave appropriately. You also have to look at the competition & see what there teams consist of. How many people (young ones) were called last year who NEVER showed up?!?!?!

I would like to know on what basis they were selected. I have been gone for 11 years and in my 30’s and i know some of these guys on there who played on the national team back then who are older than i am. I think the team should be made up of much younger players because they are the future and would benifit more from the exposure, in terms of athletic scholarship and continuation of the sport.

    Just my observation

why wasn’t any one from the T.F. Grand Fond team not chosen for the training. if they are not good enough for all you national team but at least they would be exposed to what is expected of them during a tounament.to me such is always the case when u come from the countryside and this is not fair. the selectors must realise they need to encourage people to participate and not discourage.

They are more than welcome to come watch & see what is expected of them.
