Results of Secondary Schools Table Tennis Championship Day One

The Sports Division completed a successful first day in the Two Day Secondary Schools Table Tennis Championships held at the Goodwill Primary School Auditorium on Tuesday 5th.

The activities completed were all the team events which included, Under 14 Boys and Girls, Under 16 Boys and Girls and Under 20 boys and Girls Categories.

The results at the end of Day 1 were as follows:

Under 14 Boys:
North East Comprehensive School  1st Place
Portsmouth Secondary School  2nd Place
St Mary’s Academy   3rd Place

Under 14 Girls:
Portsmouth Secondary School  1st Place
North East Comprehensive School 2nd Place
Convent High School  3rd Place

Under 16 Boys:
North East Comprehensive School 1st Place
Portsmouth Secondary School 2nd Place
St Mary’s Academy 3rd Place
Isiah Thomas Secondary School 4th Place

Under 16 Girls:
Portsmouth Secondary School 1st Place
North Eastern Comprehensive School 2nd Place
Convent High School 3rd Place
St Martin Secondary School 4th Place

Under 20 Girls:
Dominica State College 1st Place
Portsmouth Secondary School 2nd Place
North Eastern Comprehensive School 3rd Place
Convent High School 4th Place

Under 20 Boys:
Portsmouth Secondary School 1st Place
North Eastern Comprehensive School 2nd Place

The knock out singles begin at 2.00p.m. on Wednesday.

An added feature at the formal opening was the presentation of ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation)Level 1 certificates to eight coaches by Sports Coordinator, Mr. Trevor Shillingford. The coaches were: Yheudi John, Kirt Edwards, Reginald Thomas, Fernix Thomas, Cynthia Joseph, McMillan Royer, Dane Taylor and Itomah James.

    Table Tennis should be doing better!!!! There is too much talent wasting at PSS and NECS. Those who responsible to develop that sport should do something.
