Fans of Chris Gayle, who were expecting to see them do battle against New Zealand in Dominica, are left disappointed since the two have not been named to the Windies’ squad for the upcoming matches.

Gayle and was missing from the Windies’ 13-man squad which was named on Sunday.

According to the West Indies Cricket Board, Gayle is being rested for the series.

New inclusiong to the squad include allrounder Christopher Barnwell and batsman Darren Bravo.

Those who follow cricket would know that Shane does not play T20, he plays test matches and Sunil T20. Gayle definitely needs to rest, he has not be performing to max. The squad is excellent and we are going to have good cricket in the Park. Cricket lovers come out to support Windies and enjoy the game!!!!

Are we that ignorant? Well I guess that’s not the sentiment of most Dominicans.

For all those posting comments about Shane not being part of the T20 team. Since when has Shane been a T20 player on the WIndies team? The man is a TEST match player. The man is NOT a T20 player.

Does dominica know that people from other places in the world read these comments? Most of these comments sound like it came from uneducated folks, so just because Shane is from dominica he must play? Since when does he play t20

What’s wrong with you people? Not because the man is from Dominica, should he be selected to play there! Shane has never been a T20 player, why the fuss now? Should the other islands boycott when their people are not on the team?
Let’s get over it and go support the team!

      @Your Fan
Knowing our selectors, i would like to concur with you on this one. I can only hope that both you and me are wrong. NOt being able to bowl the DOOSRA, seem to have rendered him very ineffective.

shane never played t20 cricket internationally so y should he play in Dominica because he from Da, i more disapointed Gayle not playing than shane

Imagine that!!!! Two T20 games and NO Gayle in the team. Shame on West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). I think that’s two games WI going to lose.

What is the fuss all about? Shane Shillingford has never played T20 for the West Indies. If you follow Windies cricket you will know that he only plays test. Why would things change now jus because the game is in Dominica!

from my lens i honestly think shane is dusted and done..
if you listen to the coach’s sentiments after the Jamaica’s test match, folks should read between the lines, plus he didn’t bowl well in this present test match…

once a spinner cannot be consistent the windies panel will discard that player it’s a noted fact!!

and even saying allu contact wicb for shane exclusion ?
they must be laughing allu in the office in antigua all now….

and now with his struggles in test cricket with no doosra he may soon fine his west indies career over…
