Sports Division to host 2nd Creole Cup Football Tournament

dno sportsThe Sports Division in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will host the 2nd Creole Cup Football Tournament on the weekend of August 23 to 25, 2013.

The Creole Cup was established out of a cooperation arrangement between the town of Bouillante in Guadeloupe and Roseau. This Football tournament targets champion Football Clubs from Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia and Dominica.

The 2nd tournament, which is to take place at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium this coming weekend, will see competition among Club Sportiff Bouillante of Guadeloupe, Dominica’s Premier Football Champion – Scotia Bank Bath Estate Football Club and Defending Creole Cup Champion – KFC Harlem United Football Club.

A brief opening ceremony will take place at 4:45 pm on Friday, August 23rd. This will be followed by the first match of the tournament between KFC Harlem United and Scotia Bank Bath Estate football clubs at 6:30 p.m.

Double Headers will be held on Saturday and Sunday with the first match on each day being an exhibition match that will feature champion football teams in Dominica.

On Saturday at 4:00 pm, the DFA’s All Islands champion – Aldrin Pizza’s Bombers Team will take on the National Secondary Schools Team while on Sunday (also at     4:00 pm) Division 1 Champion Exodus Football Club will take on the Intermediate Champion Cube Cheese Bath Estate Football Team.

These exhibition matches will be followed by the 6:30 pm clashes in the Creole Cup.

On Saturday, KFC Harlem United will take on Club Sportiff of Guadeloupe and on Sunday, Scotia Bank Bath Estate will meet Club Sportiff of Guadeloupe.

Awards will be presented to the Man of Match for each game, the tournament MVP and the Champion Team on the final night of competition.

    Hope it is a good tournament…I hope Dominicans can come out and fill up some seats…like we do for cricket….Go DA

    These are two separate competitions and the DFA is not the organizer of it hence any sanction or disciplinary measure taken by us or on our behalf does not apply to the CREOLE CUP. Hence SALTON BANNIS or any other player who is under bann, suspension etc can participate in that competition.

    DETON BANNIS have a red card and he cannot play tomorrow I hope the DFa taking note.

      BANNIS is eligible to play against Harlem ‘ LIKEWISE ANY PLayer THAT IS UNDER DFA Ban, red card, suspension is also able to play so sayeth FIFA RULES.
