Dominica’s triple jumper, Thea Lafond, on Sunday placed 2nd in her category at the 2012 Cenral American and Caribbean (CAC) Junior Championships held in El Salvador.
Miss Lafond attained a leap of 12.94 meters in the U-20 Girls Triple Jump.
This performance has qualified her for the World Juniors in Spain. The CAC Juniors was the last opportunity for her to do so.
Miss Lafond now joins Luan Gabriel, the only other Dominican athlete to have qualified for the World Juniors in Spain from July 10th – 15th, 2012.

NICE………….Not all young Dominican women go chasing men….if those two continue, the sky is the limit…keep it up ladies
Congratualtions
Congrats to you cousin Thea you make us really proud. Love you babes.
Great Job!
Would she be going as a Dominican representative or a US trained athlete?
she has always represented Dominica… she represented Dominica at the CAC games in order to qualify, so why should she change now?
Tell them they cannot just appreciate a freaking Dominican doing bigger and better things.
I did not know …hence the question!!!
Thanks anyways
@ Anonymous. She will be representing Dominica, so what if she is being trained in the US…Our Prime Minister and many other professionals were trained in other countries…
so really what is your point
BRILLIANT!
BlessedLuv~

Great job. Hard work pays dividends.
I hope she has the proper travel documents.
Good luck Miss Lafond. Go out there and do your best.
You can bet she does. She is representing Dominica but lives and trains in Maryland.
Good to know. Does she have dual citizenship as well?
Just asking
