Wilson to stand in first ODI

Kingston, Jamaica – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that Umpire Norman Malcolm has been shifted to the 3rd Umpire role for the 5th Digicel Pearls One Day International at Sabina Park on Thursday.

Trinidadian umpire, Joel Wilson will stand in his maiden One Day International alongside Ian Gould.

Umpire Malcolm was originally appointed to stand in the match but has a physical injury which does not allow him to perform the on field duties.

He is however fully able to perform the less physically strenuous 3rd Umpire duties and has been appointed for same.

Barbadian umpire Gregory Brathwaite will perform the 4th official duties.

    They should let Chris Gayle be the umpire for this one. I hear one of his reps picked up a chair and almost fired it at a WICBC official yesterday. Umpiring might be his next profession.

    they should have removed Malcom altogether or put him as 4th umpire and i hope he goes back to regional matches and not international matched.

      Well said M, he should be removed from International matches altogether. Very undecisive and he lacks confidence. He needs to mature into the international area.
