Manager of the West Indies team on tour of the United Arab Emirates, Joel Garner, has rejected claims of disorganization made by Dwayne Bravo on the part of the regional side.

In a release, Garner described the claims as misleading and said he was disappointed but not surprised by the comments.

“I was there in Dubai and basically players were lost, the management team looked lost … we were looking like school kids again,” Bravo, a veteran all-rounder, had said.

His comments came after the West Indies lost all five limited overs games played so far against Pakistan. Additionally, the team has already lost two of the three One Day International matches and are in danger of losing the final one on Wednesday.

But Garner said the Windies were well prepared to play against Pakistan.

“This team was well prepared to engage Pakistan considering the conditions and the adjustments that were necessary to bring meaningful benefits to this team,” he stated. “Whilst change is difficult to manage, none of the players were neglected by the coaching and support staff in the execution of their duties.

He added, “In preparation for this tour, as is customary, the squad assembled in Barbados on September 10 and 11 for physical screening and fitness assessments. Additionally, there was a 7-Day build-up to the first Twenty20 match which included a warm-up.”

Garner said the West Indies team’s preparation consisted “acclimatization, recovery sessions, strength and conditioning, nets and skill sets, management planning meeting which were supported by video footage of the opposition, bullet point reminders and input from our experienced coaching staff and inclusive of the T20 and ODI Captains and the players.”

“Mr Bravo, with prior permission, by the former Head Coach, turned up on the day before the first Twenty20 match. His suggestion of disorganisation in the team’s plans and preparation is therefore false and misleading,” Garner noted.

Its totally amazing that the likes of JG who wanted to unseat DC as president of the WI is singing happily from the same song sheet. What have change since then JG? oh sorry its the post that you were given, The team lacks leadership, it lacks management and it also lack a good coach. The fact of the matter is Bravo is completely correct, there is no leadership on the field and the team look in complete disarray.

How is Kieron Pollard on the team instead Bravo ? Pollard is a 20 over player besides Bravo is a much better bowler. Johnson Charles is also a 20 over player . I don’t get it . Sometimes one may not like the employee and management consistently makes a lot of dumb decisions !

As much as I believe the West Indies Cricket Board is now on the verge of USELESSNESS, I do not think it is right for players to criticize at every turn and at every failure unless the issue has to do specifically with Player Board relations that may have deteriorated significantly and beyond arbitration.

However, I believe it is true that the Management is lost, the KIDS (players) are lost. It is indeed KID’s Cricket being played by our team – at Under -15 level when compared to the Pakistan Team.

Of course ALL the legends who could make a difference is not near the team or management or selection panel. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO or a frustrated to the point of seeking other assignments where they feel welcomed, accepted, appreciated and allowed to succeed to the benefit of all. I believe that even the presence of Garner will be short-lived. WICB is surrounded by mediocre management, mediocre coaches and very mediocre selection panel. What do we expect? THEY ARE ALL LOST !!!!

    But wait nah…

Why is an employee – who caused his employer to have had a $42 million US dollar lawsuit hanging over its head – still employed by that same employer? In which right-thinking business setup does that happen?

And to make it worse, that employee having been given an apparent reprieve for his actions which led to the lawsuit is still lambasting his employer over and over in public. Nah man.

I say completely purge the West Indies team of these ‘troublemaker’ sort of players. It’s not like the presence of some of these glorified T20 club so-called ‘star’ cricketers were causing the West Indies to win consistently anyways.

Again, I ask – Are covert entities at work behind the scenes using some of these cricketers & other ‘agents’ as proxies to cause problems & discord in the West Indies team setup?

If so, who are these covert entities and what are the REAL objective(s) of these covert entities as far as West Indies cricket is concerned?

Well, we are seeing them and based on what we see we did not need Bravo to tell us that our boys look lost and play like they are lost. As manager Garner has to cover his back just like our own Sebastian who is now a selector. But it IA a lost team and it shows . Somebody needs to help them find their way but no one is available. So true Bravo no matter what the Garners, Sebastian and Nathan say

    The results supports Bravo’s statement.
