For the person who asked where is Mervin Matthew. He is in the states living his life. Did you notice him on the field for Dominica in the recent tournament held in Dominica?

Mervin Matthew is not available for selection. He is currently with his family in the USA. No doubt, he was frustrated by the Powers that be.

West Indies cricket has been plagued by poor Management over the years to this date. It seems whoever is at the helm of West Indies cricket; they show bias towards their native islands and actively work in their interest.

Check this out – Dr Julian Hunte is the President (St Lucian); Ernest Hilaire is the Chief Executive (St Lucian) and Darren Sammy is the WI captain (St Lucian). St Lucia gets their fair quota (an overwhelming complement) of international games, ever since these individuals have taken charge of WI cricket. However, nothing seems to defy logic more than:- since when St Lucia has ever been a force in Windward Island Cricket, never in my 46-years of existence on this planet have I known them to be a force, far less in WI cricket. An over complement of St Lucian players is a very weak Windward Island cricket team – they come out last you mark my word. I’ve always know St Lucia to come either one before the last or last in the regional competition. On average, D/ca always beat St Lucia and generally gives then a good whipping.

Look at the talent recently dispayed by T&T in the Champions League Twenty20 – and they are saying WI cricket lacks talent? Why aren’t these guys featured more in the WI set up????????

Ummm your argument about management selecting their own countrymen is not very correct. In the current West Indies one day squad to Bangladesh, there are six Trinidadian cricketers on the team (at least 5 of the Trinis are certain to play in the starting 11). Only one Windward islander ie Sammy is on the current West Indies one day squad to Bangladesh and this despite the top brass of the WICB being Windward islanders.

Mervin Matthew could have been a tremendous crickiter only if Winward Island had given the recognition that he deserved.

I hope Kaveem does not get the same treatment. Notice that he is the 2nd best batsman on the WI U19 team.

Somebody please tell me what has happened to Mervin Matthew. What else does have to do to impress Winward Island selectors. I cannot remember this guy having a bad game for Winward Islands and he is always getting pressed by them. I need to remind them that Mervin Matthew caught the eye of West Indies selectors when he played youth cricket, but Winward Islands have never supported him. Please give the brother a break.

The things i heard don’t sound good for WWI cricket. when we think the selection of the Windies team is a problem, WWI just as bad or worst.
