Windward Islands Schools Games (WISG) to begin on Sunday, July 26

WISGThe 2015 CBN/WINLOTT Windward Islands Schools Games (WISG) will begin tomorrow,  Sunday July 26th at the Windsor Park Sport Stadium with a grand opening ceremony under the Patronage of His Excellency Mr. Charles A. Savarin and Mrs. Savarin.

In attendance will also be the Prime Minister of Dominica -Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit who is expected to declare the Games open, the Sports Minister’s – Hon. Justina Charles and the Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency – Hon. Joseph Isaac and representatives of the sponsors.

The Ceremony starts at 1:30 pm which will be followed by track and field at 3:00 pm.  Events will go into the evening under the lights.

The WISG showcases multi-disciplined athletes from the four (4) Windward Islands as they participate in five (5) sporting disciplines, namely football, basketball, netball, volleyball and track and field.
