Dominica has been named among the world’s top 25 destinations by the travel website Matodor Network.
In its description of the island the site said, “Dominica is known as “the Nature Island” — it’s lush, green, and mountainous, with villages hanging onto the edge of volcanoes, overlooking the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean. Trails in the tropical forest lead to waterfalls, plunge pools, and hot springs. Steamy.”
Dominica was placed at number 21 and the list was topped by Switzerland.
Matador network describes itself and “an independent media company serving a global community of people who share a love for life and travel.”
Let me put things straight the Magistrate did not take the lady 4 children and gave to the man, she gave the two first children to the man and the third child the father in prison the 4th child she does not know who the father is get all u facts straight.

Way to go mother Dominica. Things like that which make me very proud to have my navel string buried in the most beautiful, natural island in the world.
Very proud to be a Dominican…
I love my Dominica. All we need is a proper city, safer roads, and lots and lots of manners (customer service) then we would jump to number 1 on that list.
Lovely Dominica the place to be!
Its on the list in 2011 according to CNN and is #20 out of 24.

Very good PR for Dominica. In fact any opportunity to expose The Commonwealth of Dominica to the travel market and woo travellers to visit is welcome.
This rating by Matador Network is very positive and we should be all proud and strive to move up the ladder next time around…
CONGRATULATIONS TO DOMINICA FOR BEING PLACED IN THE TOP 25 (NO. 21) ROMANTIC PLACES IN THE WORLD TO VISIT…
I am excited about that i wish those of us
who are Dominicans can appreiate it and stop
critizing it.We do indeed have our problem
like every other country but it breaks my heart when i read all these negative comments
about Dominica. It is our country and it takes
each and everyone of us to make it better.
I presently reside overseas and i visit there
very often and plan to move back home permanently I have met people who have vist
Dominica who are in love with the island.
One has to go out of Dominica to appreciate
so please let us helpto make it better
rather than critizing it. This is our ilse of
Beauty
While we agree that Dominica is one of the top 25 romantic places in the world, we need to seriously come together collectively to stamp out the increasing qualitative nature of indicted crimes in this country.
Now that the world is going through an economic recession, many want a break from all this stress. It is time for our leaders to open up the avenues for scientists and investors come here. I mean real investors and scholars so that we can build this nation. The Dominican people are generally friendly and good nature, however, our immigration policies must be just and balanced for all who want to contribute to the well being of Waitikubuli. The people of Dominica who are abroad and want to invest here must be given some serious tax breaks so that they invest comfortably here.
PLEASE MOVE TO ANOTHER PLANET TO STOP CRIME. NOT EVEN IF YOU HAVE ONE POLICE TO ONE MAN..THERE ARE DOMINICANS INVESTING THEIR MONEY AND DOING WELL.WHAT THE HELL TAX BREAK YOU TALKING ABOUT?YOU ALL LOVE TOO MUCH FREEBS.WANT TO MAKE INTEREST BUT NEVER WILLING TO SPEND.STAY WHERE YOU ARE AND INVEST AND GET YOUR TAX BREAK.YOU PPL ALWAYS LOOKING TO GET SOMETHING FREE THEN COMPLAIN WHEN YOU DO NOT GET IT.SO YOU TRYING TO TELL ME THE INVESTORS WHOI ARE IN DA NOT REAL..ANYHOW I KNOW YOU TALKING ABOUT THE CHINESE.CHUPES.
that’s a dumb response there should be tax brakes in place to incorage investment, that will create employment and the workers will pay tax and that will help to developed our country
This company must be a new kid on the block. Never heard of them.
That is because you are getting no love….Stevie Girl
This is good to hear, especially as it builds interest in the island and places it among a series of other fantastic destinations. Still, I have a few things to say about it. They are not intended to criticize so much as simply to be more critical of what is presented above.
To be specific, the list is of “25 romantic honeymoon destinations” and is from October of 2010. “Romantic” is in the title of the DNO article; it disappears in the article itself. I can see why Dominica would make the list–anyone who has explored the island could see why, in all likelihood–but this definition is partly compromised by the recent bit of violence against a German tourist and the tragedy of Costello, to name the most prominent. The article also places a cruise ship by the island–an image that, as our suffering tourism industry knows, is not truly representative of a common state of affairs anymore. Returning to the crimes, it is of course the case that everywhere has its crimes, and the mere presence of some isolated crimes is no reason to avoid visiting an area. I mention the crimes only because they were surprising to me, as they were to many others, and I have to hope that they are no indication of a future state of affairs. There is no indication that they will be–but their effects on Dominica’s tourism industry may not be insignificant as Germany and Ireland take note of what has occurred, and that is worth taking into account. If we shift our focus to Aruba, we see an island once more in the spotlight for a female’s disappearance, and while it is wrong to believe that a journey to Aruba is likely to result in someone being abducted or murdered, it is undeniable that such high-profile cases have a negative impact on tourism. Dominica’s cases, thankfully for tourism, are not nearly as high-profile.
Also, while Dominica is a beautiful island in many ways, it is also undeniable that aspects of it need to be improved if the island is to continue appearing on such lists. My main concern is with littering. It is sad to me to see styrofoam containers and plastic bags and various trash on the side of the road or even in an otherwise pristine patch of forest. Again, littering occurs everywhere; I mention it because there is too much of it. To be fair, there is a lack of trash disposal units, and so it is at least understandable that this littering might occur when there is nowhere nearby to dispose of something. But much littering is likely just laziness, and this is something that must be taught in school and by parents at home. With less litter, we can more truly call the island the Nature Isle, and it will seem much more romantic a destination.
One could add more and more to the list of what could be improved, but the most feasible improvement right now is the reduction of littering, and if that can be put in place, we already will have made great strides forward.
Dominica one of the top romantic places in the world. Wow, let me make plans to go there on my next woo woo trip. Ya man, son of the soil.
For some of those in diaspora, maybe you all need a trip, especially with the new and improved airport and the night landing capability.
Thanks to Skerrit!
I suspect he is your god he created Dominica too right?
What does Skerrit have to do with that…why do we have to be so Political in this country? I hope you say thanks to Skerrit when the he sell D/ca to another country…..
what make you think Dominica is not sold already………we have alot to think about
This is the direct results of the personality cult culture that now exists in Dominica.. They want to give credit to Skerrit for CREATING DOMINICA!!!Dominica’s Nature was given to it by Skerrit!
